Charter acquires Time Warner Cable (Update)

    Good! Last time this happened with Time Warner, it caused the death of WCW. Then there's the problems that trickled down to Cartoon Network for a while.

    This had nothing to do with Time Warner. TWC is independent; they split off from the big company years ago.

    I admit, I got a small laugh when they tried to claim the merger would let them lower prices.

    ... And, commence even more people dropping this monopoly garbage as protest. I welcome it with open arms - I also expect Charter to drop channels people actually like, which only encourages my pessimism, yet bright optimism people will realize they don't need this crap anymore, thanks to the internet having everything available.

    You know what would really help matters, however? Just having the option to have internet only. Then, the TV industry could R.I.P., seeing as it's dying (painfully) to begin with.

    I've been with TWC for a little over a year. Hopefully, there will be no adverse effects on consumers.
