According to this YouTube video, which was officially uploaded by Cartoon Network in honor of Geek Week, the new CGI special will be titled "Powerpuff Girls Dance Pants R-EVIL-ution". The title is punned on the popular video game franchise Dance Dance Revolution.

Judging by the lack of footage, it's probably not going to premiere this year.

CN shouldn't make any CGI films, because they have ugly graphic, I think. (e.g. Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens) But I am waiting for this. Thank you for the information!

Title sounds dumb, but I'm willing to give the special a shot.

More negativity for this short? I understand where it's coming from, but.... Ugh...

Honestly, after first hearing the title, I was happy. It sounds just as goofy/quirky as powerpuff girls tends to be. We have a cross dressing Devil, a hill billy ball of cotton candy with an ugly nose, and Sedusa. A PUN heavy title certainly fits in with such a colorful cast of characters. So color me excited to see how the animators over at CN Studios handles three of Cartoon Network's most beloved kindergartners!

Now... My hope is that by "CGI", it is a new way to animate the PPG's in 2D. Heck, it could be using 3D models, but using trickery to make the characters appear to be animated in 2D. I don't know, but I'm sure the animation will look stunning regardless of it being 2D or 3D. I assume this decision to use CGI in lieu of the "Foster's Engine" is partially due to Craig's absence, as the use of the "Foster's Engine" in the anniversary special was mainly lead by him and his crazy brain. CN might have wanted to steer towards a more refined (well understood) method of animating, so chose CGI. However the final result looks in motion, I looooved the original concept art for this series refresh. Makes me confident in how charming this cartoon will look.

Also, Kevin Dart's mannerisms and voice is reminiscent of a "Napoleon Dynamite type of gentleman". And that is just swell. :>

It may be The Powerpuff Girls, but it doesn't strike me as Craig McCracken's Powerpuff Girls. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's just hard to ignore the fact that this was announced around the same time as Wander Over Yonder.

Hm... I'd take that with thought with a grain of salt, but... okay. They were announced at relatively the same time, but I have my doubts -that's- the reason why this new short is being created. For me, as long as the short is entertaining I'll be fine with it.

Why are we calling it a short?

I went to Ákos97HU's blog and he found the release date of this special:
    SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2013
It will premiere on a Friday. Any coincidence?

Cartoon Planet is moved away from Friday. So Friday premieres are certainly possible. However, The date may have been changed by now and also Nick and Disney Channel counter-program premieres the same day.

I doubt it will be released that day as not only do Nick and Disney have big plans for that day, but also wouldn't some form a footage for it have been released by now. And not to mention, I'd hope Cartoon Network would at least give it 3 weeks of promotion,

This is actually good, PPG would be crushed under Nick's Korra premiere and Disney Channel's Friday night lineup if it premiered tonight.

Just great. First, a Ben 10 flick in CGI and now this?

Both CN shows are better made in pencil and paper.

Ben 10 was never animated with pen and paper.

Tell that to the artist involved on the show, like Thomas Perkins.
