I don't know If this is a figment of my imagination, but does anyone remember a ghost from a 70's cartoon who from what i can remember was dressed a bit like Napoleon with a great American accent who was quite a funny character quite chubby from what i remember - i have tried to trace this ghost with no success so not sure that he exists !!!!

This sounds like the Funky Phantom.

Yeah, the description's kind of vague, but based on the time frame, it does sound like you may be thinking of Jonathan "Muddsy" Muddlemore, aka The Funky Phantom. Prior to becoming a ghost, he was an early American colonist.

    Did he look like this?

It's definitely ol' Mudsy. Colonial dress, Daws Butler recycling his Snagglepuss voice.

Funky Phantom has appeared recently, a couple of years ago in SCOOBY-DOO: Mystery Incorporated "Mystery Solvers Club State Finals".

Some of us would rather disavow that particular appearance.
