Not the kind of connection I would've expected, or one I expect the movies to address, but okay .
True, but in retrospect -- Ant-Man is sort of a connected to all sorts in the MCU -- worked for SHIELD, hated Howard, trained by Peggy, might of studied quantum realm with Selvig, Strange passed through quantum realm...
Next thing you know we'll find out Hank teamed-up with T'Chaka back in the day and ended up saving Peter Quill's mother .
Codename "Warbird" Production set to start January. Filming set for January 8 to May 11.
Personally, I would have preferred Binary.
Sounds like Sam Jackson will be back as Fury.
That should be cool (especially since there's been a degree of ambiguity as to when we'll see Fury next) .
I can't recall if Carol was ever that close to Fury in the comics, at least compared to other characters, but depending on her role or job with the government, I can see them being acquainted .
I think she might have met him when she was USAF intelligence (before she got her powers). In the Ultimate comics, she was his assistant, too. I'm not into the idea of retconning her as a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the MCU but I could see them crossing paths if Fury looks into a new case that she happens to be investigating in an official capacity as an intelligence officer in the USAF.
No surprise, but Deadline confirms the Fury rumor.
I kinda always figured we'd see Fury again. Maybe even Gen. Ross. All the ancillary military characters to some degree. I'm still questioning the existence of S.W.O.R.D. in the MCU. However with FOX finally taking space seriously now, it's unlikely.

Do you watch Agents of SHIELD?
The movies pretty much ignore Agents of SHIELD, so I wouldn't be surprised if the season finale isn't relevant to the movie.
The directors did some research at an Air Force base.
The film will be a 90's period piece with the Skrulls as the villains. Jackson will play a younger Nick Fury who still has both eyes.
Uhhhhh is this the first time that it feels like Marvel is taking a piece out of DC's handbook? Seriously why do we need a story set in the past with Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel exactly especially as she isn't a character unlike Steve Rogers known for being from a specific time period. Maybe they wanted to have a reason why she isn't around now but isn't just this sudden new force who just came around right before Avengers 4 but... honestly I'd appreciate that more then doing a period piece with her. IMHO that feels like the wrong move to make here.
Yay this opens the door to Xavin and Hulkling showing up down the line, at least if they both including Mar-Vell in this movie.
Wow, not only was I not expecting Captain Marvel to be a period piece, but I'm definitely surprised to see the Skrulls playing a prominent role !
From the concept art it looks like we'll be seeing Carol fight both the Kree and the Skrulls, so it'll be interesting to see that dynamic and how it might color the current galactic climate in ways we might not know yet .
I also wonder if the main villain will end up being a Super-Skrull ?
Though if Carol's been active since the 90's, I wonder why we haven't heard of her yet, at least in the Cosmic movies ?
Getting the chance to meet a younger version of Fury, maybe even pre-SHIELD director Fury, should be fun .
The concept art for her suit looks good .
Wait, wait, Skrulls? Awesome. Hopefully we can get a Secret Invasion adaption for Phase 4.
Or the Kree-Skrull War .
Though that looks like what this movie might be about to some degree .
