In what is probably the shortest turnaround for seasons, the fourth season of The Venture Bros. airs tonight at midnight. After positive reactions for the first and second seasons, the third season was met with mixed reactions. Some liked the attention to detail, with the continuity being fleshed out. Others thought there was TOO much attention given to it, not taking into account for viewers who might have been watching for the first time. Also, some thought it wasn't as funny as in previous seasons. With the fourth season please both camps? Or will it disappoint one side and have the other be happy? Or will it disappoint both? Tune in to find out.

Broadcast Order: Season 4, Episode 1
Production Order: Season 4, Episode 6

Venture Bros Creator Jackson Publick's take on tonights new episode:

"this premiere is a strange one that might require additional viewings to fully comprehend. But we're terribly proud of it. The only hint I'll give you as to how to mentally navigate this episode's convoluted timeline is: keep an eye on Hank's hair."

P.S. who in the world thought the 3rd season wasn't as good as the first two?

Well, I'm just gonna wait till the commercial break or till after the episode ends to comment, because I don't want to miss a second of it :D

What a coincidence. I bought season three while I was visiting my sister in Colorado this weekend.

    Okay. Watching Hank's hair.

    Whoa. He.L.P.E.R. 2.0!

Whoa, who opened the Ark of the Covenant?

    HATRED is the new Brock?!

So, this is some kind of mysterious time-gap episode with pieces to be filled over the season?

Hmm, oddly this episode reminds of the Return to the House of Mummies episode from season 2, except I think there's an actual point to this episode. But yeah, it's awesome so far. It's completely random and we've got so much bizarre s*** going on. H.E.L.P.er as a giant walking eye is pure win. Oh and I guess we know where "Heart of Steel" comes from.

Great so far. Kudos to the robot spider Helper and the invisible paint gag.

I believe it is actually a Toonami reference. Someone told me one of the guys on the Venture Brothers team is a Toonami Faithful.

Hatred in charge of your days and your nights.

I thought he wasn't allowed to be this close to boys Hank and Dean's age.

    I'm zorry, he's a bit on edge. He hasn't slept since 1945.

How many Boys from Brazil references have tehre been on Adult Swim so far?

Will we be seeing more of Molotov this season?

Don't get me wrong - I certainly don't think the 3rd season was bad. But out of the three seasons I certainly didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. My main gripe is that it seemed to sacrifice solid comedy for a season-arc; it simply wasn't able to balance it as well as seasons prior.

All Venture Brothers is good Venture Brothers though. It's merely splitting hairs. Season 4 is off to quite the hilarious start however....dear lord. Talk about hitting the ground running.

I love comics, but Dr. Venture sort of has a point.
Now we know what the price thing is.
