    Episode 12
    Japanese Title: Kamidake Seriously Damaged
Dub Title: The Vengeful and the Wounded

WARNING: Spoilers will not be tolerated! Yes, I realize this series has been around since 2002, and I realize it did air on the FUNi Colours TV anime block (It aired back in 2006, so this isn't a dub premiere), but this is its first exposure on [adult swim].

Synopsis: Seina Yamda is your average ordinary everyday teenager, if you take away one thing. Seina is the most unlucky boy known of in the entire universe. However Seina has decided to join the prestigious GP Academy. He hoped that the training at the GP would allow him to win the love of his life, assuming that the two women fighting over him didn't kill each other first. Now, as a Captain, Seina finds he can gain new found respect or ultimately lead the GP down the path of a horrendous defeat, but which way will his luck lead him to?

    TONIGHT:

    Your cast of characters:
[IMG] Seina Yamada: The main character who seems to have horrible luck. Seina has enlisted in the GP and hopes to use it to his advantage to gain the love of Kiriko, but now he has been made a captain and finds that Kiriko is one of the individuals he is to command.

[IMG] Kiriko Masaki: A young lady that has always been friends with Seina, despite his horrible luck. Kiriko has always favored Seina and done things like make him cake. After being demoted from immigration to the GP Academy as an instructor, Kiriko was told to turn Seina into a man during the next 6 months. Now that Seina is a captain, she has been made a member of his crew, but her mission hasn't changed.

[IMG] Amane Kaunaq: A mysterious lady that Seina runs into through a horrible series of events. She asked Seina to join the GP, but consequences followed. Amane was demoted from second class detective to a GP Instructor, and now she has been made a member of Seina's crew with the responsibility of rounding up pirates any way possible.

[IMG] Ryoko Balta: This mysterious woman is a former leader of the pirates, but when she if offered a chance to work with Seina, she must decide if it is the GP or a pirates life for me that will be the best way.

[IMG] NB: NB is a specially made AI Assistant Robot. However Amane decides to tamper with NB, completely altering his original programming. Now NB is willing to serve any of the ladies or his master, but he also has a few ulterior motives.

[IMG][IMG][IMG] Alan, Barry, and Cohen: These three musketeers are former members of a cargo ship. They took a gig as pirate decoys, not knowing Seina would be their captain, solely to get back into space regularly. Now the 3 find themselves in danger regularly, but they are also gaining some respect for Seina's unique ability.

[IMG] Tarant Shank: Shank is recognized as the most dangerous and deadly pirate. The GP has constantly looked for ways to beat him, but they've never been successful. Shank continues to attack and and all ships that come his way, but little does he know him and his bloodthirsty brigands are about to run face to face with Seina Yamada. Will Seina's bad luck lead to Shank's ultimate victory, or will Shank find bad luck thrown his way instead?

[IMG] Airi Misaki: Tenchi's grandmother happens to be the leader of the GP. However she hates being called a Granny. Airi not only happens to be the head of the GP, but she is very realistic. When she learns Seina and his crew are in dangerous, she seeks the help of a former GP spy she believes will work wit them from here on out.

Last time: So the dog girl turned out to be a pirate.
Well, if this stops Nabeshin from putting thoughts of bestiality in my head, I say it's for the better.

Kamidake? As in "Asaka and Kamidake"?

Is this the time for Marshmallow Hell?

What, did they shoot them with paintball guns?

How many pirates ARE there in this part of the galaxy?

How soon until they all start eating each other?

How many ships do they HAVE?

"Exactly what kind of software did you instsall in him?"
Misogynist Frat Boy for Windows 8.

The cavalry of sorts has arrived.

Hey, it's that guy who hates Seina.

    CAMEO GUEST APPEARANCE!!

And she's anally raped their robot. Thanks again, Nabeshin.

THAT'S MISS RYO-OHKI TO YOU, YA POSERS!!

Wow, those pirates can't shoot for crap.

Also, what was the deal with that random subtitle?

So Ryoko is out of jail, dam that was a quick sentence. I guess it shows us not all pirates are evil, One Piece should teach you that.

The subtitle said "no Kanpan" in katakana, with "no" being a possessive, like 's. Kanpan, or hardtack, is the type of cracker they had. You can read about it here.

I was always curious about that weird beat with the "you have to eat our crackers" thing. So thanks for the explanation on the katakana. But I still don't get it. And I still don't get why they used that subtitle there. Does the Japanese culture have a weird thing about crackers?

Nabeshin is a genius but he is an odd duck.

None of the pirates in the show are ones I'd describe as evil except Tarant. In fact, the whole GP/Piracy thing in this series almost comes off like a childish game of Cowboys and Indians played out for the sake of entertainment for the Juraian empire.
