    "Begun, the Clone Wars have."

In the days before the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire, before the Jedi Order dissolved and their kind were driven to the brink of extinction, there was a war. A war between the Jedi and the Seperatists, between both the light side and the dark side of the force. One side, led by Sith Lords controlling an endless supply of Droids and hired bounty hunters. The other, led by the Jedi and their own army for which this war would come to be named after.

These are the stories of the future Lord Vader, Anakin Skywalker, his young padawan Ahsoka Tano, the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and countless other participants of this pivitol moment in galactic history. These are the Clone Wars.

Having finished its impressively large run of exactly 108 episodes last March, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is one of the longest running American action cartoons in recent history. And now, like its 2003 Tartakovsky predecessor, it has made its way to Toonami, starting tonight at 3am EST!

I should also say that even if you don't like the first episode, keep watching. This show does improve over time.

I think there's plenty of reasons to like this episode. It's probably just that not enough people outside of the Cartoon Network demographic have given it a chance. There are various things this show has going against it.

    - It's a TV show based on prequel trilogy not well received
    - It's a continuation of a 2D animated micro series that's very well-received.
    - Star Wars is long enough and popular enough to have been made fun off and make people jaded of the entire franchise.
    - It's not anime

I swear Droidekas are annoying to get rid of no matter what Star War video game I've played so far.

This speech Yoda gives to each of the three clones is exactly why I think this episode would make a good first episode on Toonami. As I've said fore, the Clones in this show are more than clones and they're given a sense of individuality.

    "BUT I JUST GOT PROMOTEEEEED!!"

    R.I.P random army droid.

And the show just trended in the US. Take that haters!

Huh. It's always intriguing hearing how different the characters sound from the beginning of a story compared to much later. Matt Laner as Anakin sounds closer Mat Lucas in the micro series but deeper. And Ashley Eckstein made Ahsoka sound a lot younger and naive in these early episodes.

Actually seeing this episode in retrospect made me realize, we got more of a personality out of individual jedi masters that even the microseries didn't elaborate on. That's not to say there were never jedi masters or apprentices shown in the microseries and we saw enough to get a sense of personality and relationships between the jedi. But this show really went into depth on certain jedi, even going as far to interact with the clones and help them realize their worth as comrades. In fact:

After tonight's movie broadcast of Evangelion 2.22, and after the special surprise Toonami has cooked up for 2:30, don't forget to stick around for a Toonami-premiere episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars at its one-night-only slightly-earlier time of 2:45am!

    Rex: "Roger, roger!"

God, Rex is awesome. Also, never recalled these droids before, Being undercover spies and ambushing. These are the most useful droids I've seen since the droidekas.

I just read a very oddly-interesting tweet. When in the episode were pinup models shown anyway?

    Droids: "Do we take prisoners?"

    Heavy: "I... don't!"

Lesson of the day: CLONES ARE BOSS!!

It looks like episode 8 "Bombad Jedi" will be the first one getting skipped, which makes sense considering Jar Jar Binks is in it.

I've always found General Grievous's design very intriguing. His 2-D design in the microseries always seemed more appealing overall with the one exception of the color of his skeleton being light blue. Admittedly, I always dug how changed and stayed to black in the movies and the TV series. It felt more eye-popping color wise.

Okay, why is the ship called The Twilight? Kinda odd name for a Star Wars ship.

Seeing the cloudy sunset setting in the fight between Anakin's team and the battle droids is definitely breath-taking, but it makes me wonder. How exactly are the finalized background designs done in a CG show like the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series? It's one thing to animate and color characters in CG, but backgrounds that look photorealistic is something I've been curious about.

Additionally, Star Wars: The Clone Wars won't be on next week. Instead, stay tuned for the one-hour IGPX series finale!

Also, some interesting news just came in: Production on the illusive season 6 has wrapped. So we'll hopefully get to see the final episodes soon!

I wonder if this will have any effect on the airing of the show on Toonami. If Disney decides to air the final season on Disney XD, then they might want it pulled from Adult Swim.

That would definitely suck if that happened. I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but it would be really something it Toonami ever had a chance of exclusively premiering the 6th season. Stupid Disney, wanting to selfishly get episodes 7-9 made!

Man, Grevious's main control room sure does give off a deathly feel, what with the blue color scheme and all.

And the newly promoted Jedi Knight just got shot. R.I.P Nadar Vebb.

Grevious: "I will kill you all! Do you hear me Jedi?!"

Kit Fisto: "You might have been a proud warrior once, but now you are just a pawn in Dooku's game!"

Lines of the night for this show.

Last I heard, Clone Wars had been canned along with everything else in the regime change. Did they change their minds?

I also heard the non-ending assured Ahsoka would not meet a grim demise. Guess that's still a possibility now.

A large chunk of season 6's production was already completed before Disney bought Lucasfilm. I'm willing to assume two possibilities:

    A) Disney was nice enough to let them finish the season.
    B) They had to do some tough negotiating.
