"Life comes at you fast, just like a raging current! I don't fight it! Going against the flow? Just means you're swimming in place. One day you're too tired to paddle, and suddenly you drown! Whole thing was pointless and now you're dead, THE END! Now, going with the flow is where it's at. And that's...the dandy way to live." Space Dandy is a dandy guy...in space! It's in the name, you know! After an even weirder than usual episode last week where a walking and talking fish wasn't the strangest thing going on, tonight at 12:30 Dandy's going back to school where everyone will obviously accept him because of how cool he clearly is......right? Also, this might be High School Musical x Space Dandy. Oh dear. The Characters of Space Dandy Dandy Space Dandy operates on the scale of the universe and prides himself on "going with the flow", never worrying about small things. As a professional "alien hunter" Dandy makes a living traveling the universe, discovering new life and new civilizations...on occasion, when he's not just messing around, messing things up, or wasting time lusting after the ladies. For all his idiocy and mishaps though, sometimes Dandy demonstrates his nobler side. Sometimes he even finds success, as if to affirm that the galaxy really is a miraculous place. QT One day, Dandy walked into a secondhand robot shop looking for a competent droid companion like R2-D2. What he walked out with was QT, a "glorified broom bot" cursed with limited processing power and its status as the straight man - er, straight robot - to a pair of buffoons. So far, this little guy just can't seem to catch a break. Will QT's day of triumph ever come? Hang in there, ya bucket of bolts! Meow A native of the planet Beetlejuice and creepy voyeur turned crewmate, Meow is Dandy's companion on his spacefaring adventures and also totally NOT a space cat. As a first rate loafer who's more adept at using his smartphone than doing anything useful, Meow can be counted on to make a good effort at making Dandy look good by way of comparison. Honey When Dandy wants to unwind, he takes the time to visit a certain "establishment" that's basically Hooters in space. Honey is one of many beautiful waitresses working there. So far she hasn't had much to do but stand around and look pretty, but maybe that will change. Or not. Scarlet An inspector at the space alien registration center Dandy works for, Scarlet once displayed mad fighting skills and then went on to be the person behind the desk calling out Dandy for his many failures. Will she get seen more this season? Will she ever kick anybody again? Only time will tell. Professor Gel A servant of the Gogol Empire, Professor Gel is an evil genius scientist and quite possibly the space gorilla with the weirdest hair and the most inappropriate spaceship in the universe. Gel is tasked with destroying Space Dandy once and for all but all his efforts are cursed with ironic misfortune, which just bolsters Gel's belief that Dandy is an exceptionally dangerous threat. Who knows, maybe that's true and Gel really is smart. Luck counts as a skill, right? Commodore Perry The ruler of the mighty Gogol Empire, which is battling the Jaicro Empire in an epic war for control of the entire universe that nonetheless seems to have barely anything to do with anything that happens in this show. He wants Dandy dead for totally unexplained reasons that we might learn about someday. Maybe. Or we could just witness a bunch of weird stuff!
