I figured they'd go back to the whole evil mastermind Morty. I bet we won't see that lead anywhere until next season.

I loled at Rick over not doing Interdimensional Cable again.

Soooooo was that the evil Morty from Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind, right? (if so, saw it coming)

Anyway, Interdimensional Cable (replacement) next week should be fun.

I think it was really clever that they basically pulled a bait-and-switch on what the episode was about, as the Atlantis thing was really just a way to introduce the concept of the rest of the episode taking place in the Citadel.

And man, was it glorious. Just the idea of watching all these Ricks and Morties interact in an entire society of their own is both insanely creative and hilarious, but the fact the plot goes in all sorts of different directions constantly keeps things both engaging, humorous, and even strangely thought-provoking in a way.

But of course, it's the ending that really makes everything come full circle. It'll be really exciting to see where this will lead to, whenever it happens. But I know for a fact it'll be worth the wait.

This has to be my favorite episode of the series so far, surprisingly refreshing, and genius episode with one of my favorite reveals in any cartoon.

Its sort of weird seeing a Rick so empathetic, sure we seen some scenes with our Rick being somewhat decent but cop Rookie cop Rick was almost season 1 Morty levels of empathetic

I guess it would have been too easy to make Morty the good cop so they went with Rick instead. Probably for the better.

"Terryfold" from the episode "Rest and Ricklaxation" enters the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart at number 33. The song is performed by Chaos Chaos and has vocals by series creator Justin Roiland. The group's track "Do You Feel It?" was used previously on season two episode "Auto Erotic Assimilation."

Honestly, I'm wondering whether that character chasing Rick and Morty in the opening sequence being an homage to Brook from One Piece is me reaching or not. Then again, one of the animation directors of the show, Bryan Newton, is also a One Piece fan and sometimes joins in on episodes of the One Piece Podcast, so who knows.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I hope one of those Mind Blowers is an episode of Ball Fondlers.

I hope it's as improvisational as interdimensional cable.

    I AM NOT A COLLECTOR'S PLATE! I AM A HUMAN BEING!

    They're learning something already.

I hope his memory of Fart isn't in there. We've already seen that one.

    poopaids_copy was a weird one.

And I thought they smelled bad on the outside.

Who are you? Who and I? What channel are we on?

Ah, I knew there was someone else he reminded me of aside from Brook. And yes, he looks almost exactly like Dream (the main character) from Sandman.

Does that qualify as a purple nurple?

    True level.

    Maybe label those switches.

Remind me to leave nuts out in my yard.

SANTA CLAUS!! NOOOO--wait, he was once Mrs. Poopybutthole?

Yeah, get out of here. Ball Fondlers is on.

    Nice one, Jerry.

And next week, it's Candy Land on acid.

I wasn't really digging this one. I like the idea of them telling short-format stories, but the way it's executed isn't very original, it doesn't really lead to anything, and most of the actual short stories aren't as memorable as they should've been.

That being said, this is Rick and Morty, so there is still a lot of great lines, imagination, and back-in-forth. So it's still at least enjoyable on the comedic side of things. Plus, I did particularly like how Rick said in the cold open "We're doing this instead of interdimensional cable", and in the end they wake up to find themselves watching... yeah. The show always seems to nail meta humor. This is definitely my least favorite of the season so far, but that bumps it down from "great" to just "okay".

BTW weren't we supposed to get 14 episodes this season? All official sources say 10, but I swear I saw something last year that said they got an extension. I know I'm not crazy for thinking that.

It was announced back in January that season 3 would be 14 episodes, but I guess they nixed that idea.

Shame; 10 episodes per season really isn't enough, especially given the overly long gaps between them.

All the people jizzing their pants over new Steven Universe don't know how good they have it...
