Previously on Lupin III: Zenigata finds that finally catching Lupin deprives him of his purpose, plunging him into an existential crisis. Oh, and Lupin uses art to escape.

The Mona Lisa, eh? Sorry Lupin, but Vincenzo Peruggia beat you to it.

Fresh out of prison and back at it.

And apparently he's aiming pretty high.

"All power supplies are switched to stand-by sources. And as an extra precaution, I have turned up my accent to maximum."

If Lupin is one of the statues, I would not be impressed.

Is Lupin intent on deceiving the heavens and crossing the ocean?

    "Do you have a hammer?"
No, but if I did, I would hammer in the morning and hammer in the evening.

Ohh, Lupin, you disappoint me. That's almost TOO obvious.

And Fujiko does an Akira motorcycle stunt imitation.

Wait, he didn't---so what was that all about?

I hope you didn't get any fingerprints on it.

How many copies of it are there?

Stealing the Mona Lisa and selling it? Well, that's one way to get campaign funding.

I thought you wouldn't be as eager to arrest him after last week.

    That one's a fake too, isn't it?

Well, this whole thing was what the Italians would call a fiasco.

Alright show, you are not about to tell me that Da Vinci has come back to life and/or is immortal.

So the naked guy from last episode was Leonardo da Vinci? I guess this episode wasn't just a goofy "steal the Mona Lisa" episode. What does the somehow alive Leonardo da Vinci have to do with the dream of Italy? This story arc is getting pretty weird.

    Episode 14 was pretty sweet/enjoyable,

Lupin and the gang wanting to steal the Mona Lisa for more money was a sweet plan.

Nice seeing that mysterious old man who's interesting.

Inspector Zenigata chasing Lupin and crew, still great/enjoyable, Lupin/Inspector Zenigata the best enemies next to Ash/Team Rocket, Yugi/Seto Kaiba, Naruto/Sasuke, and Revy/Roberta:D.

Fujiko, best enjoyable villainess/selfish jerkette, with her backstabbing/messing with Lupin is so funny, both her, Faye Valentine, Rebecca, and Michiko have a lot in common, hehehe:p.

Philippe, my favorite great minor villain, his selfish plan stealing the Mona Lisa teaming up with Fujiko was great/clever, finally a decent okay minor criminal villain that's not downright despicable/awful(like Eric/the ringmaster/Leopoldo).

Lupin and the gang defeating Philippe getting the Mona Lisa back was sweet.

    A great funny Lupin/Fujiko scene, hehehe:p.

The ending with the mysterious old man was great, he's Leonardo da Vinci alive, he made replica Mona Lisa, interesting, Jameson Price as him, sweet.

A nice sweet comedy heist episode next to Welcome To The Haunted Hotel without the horrible horrifying stuff agreeing with Light Lucario on hating the horrible horrifying stuff in it.

I thought that this episode was okay. Lupin going right back into stealing and going after the Mona Lisa on top of that was kind of fun. At least he had a more clever plan than I expected with using Jigen as a distraction. Zenigata was more eager to capture Lupin after his big crisis in the previous episode, but he still loves the chase of it all.

Being chased after apparently getting a fake Mona Lisa was kind of funny. I was confused on whether or not it was fake given the art historian's reaction, but then the twist with the man Fujiko was working for made it a bit more reasonable. The ending twist with the old man apparently being the real Da Vinici was just weird. I guess he plays some role in the whole dream of Italy plot, but it's strange to bring him up in the second half of the series when something as big as a reveal as that probably could have been hinted at earlier. Overall, it was an okay episode.
