    Stand: Star Platinum
    Ability: Strength and Precision
    Stats: Destructive Power - A / Speed - A / Range - C / Durability - A / Precision - A / Developmental Potential - A
    Namesake: The Star (tarot card)
Joseph’s grandson, Jotaro isn’t one for displaying his emotions and is a man of few words, but deep down has a gentle heart and will protect anybody close to him, especially if he has to beat the crap out of someone. Recently, he gained a mysterious power known as a Stand, his being a powerful one with incredible precision and strength. With his Stand, Star Platinum, he’s now on a journey to Egypt to take down DIO and save his mother.

    Joseph Joestar
    Voiced by: Richard Epcar
    Stand: Hermit Purple
    Ability: Divination and Hamon
    Stats: Destructive Power - D / Speed - C / Range - D / Durability - A / Precision - D / Developmental Potential - E
    Namesake: The Hermit (tarot card)
Joseph Joestar once saved the world nearly 50 years ago, but since then retired from his Hamon training and became a real estate tycoon in America. However, after gaining his Stand, he sprung back into action once discovering that the evil DIO, who had taken his grandfather’s life, had reemerged from his hundred-year slumber. Alongside his grandson Jotaro, his friend Avdol, and high schooler Kakyoin, Joseph is now in a race against time to defeat DIO and remove the curse afflicting his daughter Holly.

    Muhammad Avdol
    Voiced by: Chris Tergliafera
    Stand: Magician’s Red
    Ability: Fire Manipulation
    Stats: Destructive Power - B / Speed - B / Range - C / Durability - B / Precision - C / Developmental Potential - D
Namesakes: Paula Abdul (Singer) / The Magician (Tarot card)
Joseph’s Egyptian friend, Avdol was the voice of reason and a rather serious individual. He possessed a strong sense of loyalty and duty, determined to eliminate DIO and his minions, while helping the Joestars any way possible using his worldly knowledge. Unlike Joseph and Jotaro, Avdol was born with his Stand, and thus had essentially mastered his own abilities. After an encounter with Hol Horse and Centerfold, Avdol was left with two fatal wounds and died, leaving his allies to avenge his death.

    Noriaki Kakyoin
    Voiced by: Kyle Hebert
    Stand: Hierophant Green
Abilities: Coiled body, marionette control, and Emerald Splash
    Stats: Destructive Power - C / Speed - B / Range - A / Durability - B / Precision - C / Developmental Potential - D
Namesakes: Kakyoin (neighborhood in Sendai, Japan) / The Hierophant (tarot card)
Kakyoin originally worked for DIO, having been brainwashed by the vampire while on a family trip to Egypt, but was saved by Jotaro. Being a righteous individual determined to rid the world of evil and to repay his debt to Jotaro, Kakyoin has joined the quest to defeat DIO.

    Jean Pierre Polnareff
    Voiced by: Doug Erholtz
    Stand: Silver Chariot
    Abilities: Speed and sword combat
    Stats: Destructive Power - C / Speed - A / Range - C / Durability - B / Precision - B / Developmental Potential - C
Namesakes: Jean-Paul Belmondo (actor) / Michel Polnareff (musician) / The Chariot (tarot card)
Polnareff is a chivalrous Frenchman who met the Crusaders in Hong Kong. He was initially a minion of DIO but, like Kakyoin, was rescued from the brainwashing that had been placed on him. He had joined the group to avenge his sister, who was killed by the evil Stand user Centerfold. But after defeating his target, he continues onward with them to Egypt to end DIO’s evil reign and ensure no one else has to suffer.

    Hol Horse
    Voiced by: Imari Williams
    Stand: Emperor
Abilities: Point-Blank Summon and Homing Bullets
    Stats: Destructive Power - B / Speed - B / Range - B / Durability - C / Precision - E / Developmental Potential - E
Namesakes: Hall & Oates (Pop Duo) / The Emperor (tarot card)
Hol Horse, on the surface, appears to be a confident and smooth-talking womanizer. Deep down, however, that confidence is a facade, as Hol Horse is aware of how weak his own Stand is. For this reason, he is one of the few Stand users under DIO’s command who willingly teams up with other Stand users. After the defeat of his partner Centerfold, Hol Horse ran away from the Crusaders, vowing to team up with another of DIO’s minions and try again another time.

    Centerfold [Japanese name: J. Geil]
    Stand: Hanged Man
Abilities: Light Manifestation and Wrist Knives
    Stats: Destructive Power - C / Speed - A / Range - A / Durability - B / Precision - D / Developmental Potential - D
Namesakes: Centerfold (song by The J. Geils Band) / The J. Geils Band (rock band) / The Hanged Man (tarot card)
Centerfold was a mysterious assassin known for his bizarre physical trait of two right hands. Several years ago, he raped and murdered Polnareff’s sister Sherry in France, which led Polnareff on a global hunt to find the killer. This ended with a confrontation in India, resulting in Centerfold’s death. Centerfold’s Stand was even more unusual than his hands, being a Stand that used the power of light to bounce between reflective surfaces, appearing as if it was within a mirror world, and being able to attack anyone in the reflection with knives protruding from its wrists.

    Nena
    Namesake: Nena (singer)
Nena is a young woman whom Hol Horse had recently been romancing. When Hol Horse found himself cornered by the Crusaders, having no backup following Centerfold’s death, Nena distracted them and allowed Hol Horse to escape. Now she is tailing the Crusaders, hiding on her tongue a strange bud...

    DIO
    Voiced by: Patrick Seitz
    Namesake: DIO (Band)
    Stand: ???
In the early 1880’s, a lower-class orphan by the name of Dio Brando was taken in by the upper-class Joestar family. With resentment for those of higher social status than him, Dio spent the next 7 years planning to take out the heir to the Joestar family, Jonathan Joestar, and claim its fortune. However, caught at a critical time in his plan, Dio used an ancient artifact the Joestars owned to become a vampire and began a new plot for world domination. Jonathan, along his friends, fought back against Dio, ending in a confrontation on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic which cost Jonathan’s life and sent Dio to a supposed watery grave. However, nearly a hundred years later, he was recovered by an unsuspecting group of treasure hunters, and given life anew in the modern age! Having gained possession of a mysterious Stand ability, the being now known simply as “DIO” wraps his insidious grasp around the world through agents also possessing Stands, in the resurrection of his plot to end the Joestar bloodline and dominate humanity! Jonathan’s body has manifested a Stand similar to Joseph’s Hermit Purple which allows DIO to monitor the Stardust Crusaders, but DIO’s own Stand is something more mysterious and far more terrifying.

    Enyaba
    Voiced by: Barbara Goodson
    Namesake: Enya (singer)
    Stand: ???
Enyaba is DIO’s right-hand confidant, operating alongside him behind the scenes to give him advice and coordinate his followers in their attacks on the Crusaders.

    Episode 12 (38)
    “The Empress"
    Chapters adapted: 146-149

    Previously on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure:
Following Avdol’s murder at the hands of Hol Horse and Centerfold, Kakyoin and Polnareff fled, hoping to put some distance between them and the enemy Stand users. They thought they were safe at first, until it became apparent that the Hanged Man somehow caught a ride with them, being inside the steering wheel of their getaway truck. After jumping between several reflective surfaces, the two Crusaders figured out the secret to Centerfold’s power: His Stand doesn’t live inside some mirror world, rather it travels via light onto reflections.

As a nearby kid approached them, concerned about their injuries, the Hanged Man entered the child’s eye. Polnareff managed to temporarily blind the kid with sand, luring out Hanged Man to jump towards the nearest reflective surface: Polnareff’s eye. While in transit, Silver Chariot slashed at the beam of light, injuring Hanged Man. Near them, a man with an injury like Hanged Man’s screamed, which led Polnareff and Kakyoin to assume this was Centerfold. However, Polnareff was then suddenly stabbed, as the real Centerfold revealed himself. Centerfold tricked a group of peasants to swarm Kakyoin and Polnareff by saying they’d give them money, and proceeded to use the reflection of their eyes to launch a barrage of attacks at the pair. However, Kakyoin played along and offered the villagers a coin, flipping it up into the air so all of them were looking at one place, forcing the Hanged Man to only have one place to travel to. Polnareff attacked the stand, slicing it in half, and then attacked Centerfold directly, an assault which ended with the villain impaled on a fence.

Arriving back in the city, Hol Horse confronted Polnareff and Kakyoin. He began to shoot at random objects, expecting Centerfold to reflect them back. Once he realized he was alone, he began to retreat, but found himself cornered as Joseph and Jotaro showed up, having just given Avdol a proper burial. However, the young woman he had been flirting with the other day, Nena, showed up just in time to provide a suitable distraction, allowing the Emperor’s user to make a hasty retreat for now. Unknown to the Crusaders, however, a drop of Nena’s blood had touched Joseph’s arm, leaving behind a mysterious wart with teeth. Nena watched the group leave, hiding a similar wart on her own tongue...

    Now:
Joseph goes to a hospital after a strange bug bite gets worse. However, as the bug bite continues to grow, it starts to talk back to him and becomes increasingly hostile.

    JOJO'S JUKEBOX

This week’s Jukebox song is “99 Luftballons” by Nena.

Alright Boys and Girls, this marks the 2nd instance Hamon/Ripple is used in the series before it’s discarded from series for good. It’s used again one more time in Stardust Crusaders.
