I thought that this episode was pretty good. I thought that Uvogin would reveal a bit more about what happened with Kurapika's clan before the fight began. Even without going at full strength, Uvogin was just pushing through Kurapika. Seeing what he did to his arm was just brutal and yet Kurapika didn't react at all to what must have been immense pain.

I was so certain that he did leave his teacher before finishing his training, but Kurapika stayed once he learned about the contract. I was not expecting Kurapika to be a Specialist. When his eyes glow red, he can use Emperor Time and have control over all of the Nens. Dang. No wonder Kurapika is already so much stronger than the others. The self-imposed contract does play a major role in his strength too, but just being able to use all forms of Nen when his eyes glow would make him difficult to defeat. We saw how Uvogin just crushed through a ton of people and the Shadow Beasts too, but Kurapika acted like it was nothing. And it didn't feel forced because of how much stronger Kurapika has become. The explanation for it just made a lot more sense than I was expecting.

Even though Uvogin knew he was done for, he still wouldn't give out any information about the Phantom Troop. That was more loyalty than I was expecting from him. Seeing Kurapika kill Uvogin was pretty brutal. I had a feeling that was going to happen given the setup from the previous episode, but it was still pretty intense. I do like how they showed Kurapika dealing with killing someone for the first time. While he was involved with killing his clan and Kurapika has wanted to get revenge for what happened, he wasn't happy about killing him at the end. It bothered him so much that he asked Uvogin how he could go about killing people like it was nothing. He also had the respect to bury Uvogin's body instead of leaving it out. It showed that he still wanted to have some respect for his enemy, despite being a Phantom Troop member, and that he had more than enough confidence in his skills to bring a shovel to a fight.

Overall, it was a pretty good episode. I am curious how the other Phantom Troop members will react to Uvogin's death and if Kurapika will fight more members too.

That was really something. That was a full-length episode, but it felt like half that to me.

I think Kurapika just became my favorite character.

Wow. I didn't expect Kurapika to handle such a powerful opponent that easily. This was an epic fight. Pretty sure the rest of the Phantom Troupe are probably gonna be tougher, considering the sorting algorithm of evil principle, and I hope those fights also deliver.

Well not really Uvogin while not the strongest is definitely at least top 5 so not really an algorithm of evil here

And the slaughter begins. Kurapika's disgust with himself for committing violence (even if he did go through with the act in the end) shows that there is still an air of nobility to him. I'm still a little confused on how Kurapika's Kurta eyes offer him greater mastery over Nen abilities, though.

Even though many people consider Killua to be the "baddest" protagonist in HxH, I think Kurapika gives him a run for his money. Kurapika gets intense when he's angry.

You have to admire Uvo for not spilling his guts, though.

How do you figure that? The Phantom Troupe isn't structured in a strict hierarchy besides Chrollo being the strongest and a certain other member not being into direct combat. Who could beat whom depends mostly on ability compatibility and situation, for he most part.

The dude is physically the strongest and the most durable, I'm not saying hes the strongest but I think using some deduction I could see him being at least top 5 maybe number 3

And? In manga and anime the most physically strongest guy in the group is often the weakest overall. Not necessarily the case here, but as this fight, and even his fight against the shadow beast showed, finding ways around that is nowhere near impossible and he doesn't have much else going for him besides that. Like I said, there's no strict hierarchy in strength with them, and it's for the better.

Okay but its not the case here where physical strength and durability play a key part, I'm not say there aren't any other factors to it but I do think that in terms of strength and abilities Uvogin is at least in the top half.

Based on what I know of all their abilities, I'm fairly confident most of them are capable and that alone takes away his biggest advantage, especially with the way he mostly just charges in. I'm not saying he'd definitely lose, but I'd say in one-on-one matches it's a toss up for them most part. That's why I'm saying there's no strict hierarchy. Frankly, I'd mostly give the edge to the others because Uvogin isn't very smart, and the other members are more versatile than him.

Uvogin's straightforward and simple style and thnking is part of what made this work for Kurapika. You can't count on that with a lot of the others.

Uvogin while not a total brainiac is far from dumb in fact the dude is pretty smart when it comes to fighting also while the others do have more weird powers I doubt most of them can damage his skin or take hits from him

Whether they could take hits from him is actually a good question (and that's assuming he manages a hit in, which is not a given), but I'm just going to have to flatly disagree with you on them not being able to hurt him. That really just comes off as you overrating his abilities, while severely underestimating everyone else's.

But it doesn't really matter anyway, even without knowing how this all goes, narrative convention dictates that even if Kurapika actually managed to get another one of them alone, it would not go as smoothly.

Besides Machi, Phinks, Nobunga, Feitan, Chrollo and maybe Shalnark how would't it go as smoothly
