I thought that this episode was pretty good. I thought that Uvogin would reveal a bit more about what happened with Kurapika's clan before the fight began. Even without going at full strength, Uvogin was just pushing through Kurapika. Seeing what he did to his arm was just brutal and yet Kurapika didn't react at all to what must have been immense pain. I was so certain that he did leave his teacher before finishing his training, but Kurapika stayed once he learned about the contract. I was not expecting Kurapika to be a Specialist. When his eyes glow red, he can use Emperor Time and have control over all of the Nens. Dang. No wonder Kurapika is already so much stronger than the others. The self-imposed contract does play a major role in his strength too, but just being able to use all forms of Nen when his eyes glow would make him difficult to defeat. We saw how Uvogin just crushed through a ton of people and the Shadow Beasts too, but Kurapika acted like it was nothing. And it didn't feel forced because of how much stronger Kurapika has become. The explanation for it just made a lot more sense than I was expecting. Even though Uvogin knew he was done for, he still wouldn't give out any information about the Phantom Troop. That was more loyalty than I was expecting from him. Seeing Kurapika kill Uvogin was pretty brutal. I had a feeling that was going to happen given the setup from the previous episode, but it was still pretty intense. I do like how they showed Kurapika dealing with killing someone for the first time. While he was involved with killing his clan and Kurapika has wanted to get revenge for what happened, he wasn't happy about killing him at the end. It bothered him so much that he asked Uvogin how he could go about killing people like it was nothing. He also had the respect to bury Uvogin's body instead of leaving it out. It showed that he still wanted to have some respect for his enemy, despite being a Phantom Troop member, and that he had more than enough confidence in his skills to bring a shovel to a fight. Overall, it was a pretty good episode. I am curious how the other Phantom Troop members will react to Uvogin's death and if Kurapika will fight more members too.
