Oh yeah, remember when Kurapika said Spiders don't bother counting the number of people they killed.

Can the tragedy really be shocking when the title spoils it?

Something tells me this auction isn't going to raise a lot of money.

She should forget the crime thing and start her own janitorial service.

"A Judas among us"? Interesting line. Do Earth religions exist in the Hunter X Hunter world? Is it a version of our world?

EDIT: And I have my answer.

It makes you wonder, was the Jesus of HXH's world just a really sophisticated Nen-user?

This show's world is interesting enough that it can do a compelling episode that almost entirely ignores the main four characters.

Poor Baise's death from Shizuku, Rest In Peace Baise:(, my favorite killing my favorite.

The vacuum cleaner weapon is interesting/cool/bizarre.

That's one violent gruesome auction massacure.

Phantom Troupe being builded up being ruthless/powerful/dangerous was great, they're interesting though.

The Shadow Beasts are awesome interesting mysterious new allies:D, the Shadow Beasts vs. the Phantom Troupe I'll enjoy.

Interesting that the great episode didn't focus on Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika, despite Kurapika's small role.

    That world map was nuts.

He's more Sabertooth than Wolverine. Hell, maybe even Juggernaut...

Wow. What a massacre in a previously cutesy show with a twelve-year-old happy-go-lucky protagonist. How many fluid ounces of blood do you need for a TV-MA rating? This episode certainly came close to that threshold. I remember very little blood from previous arcs. Cute glasses girl just killed someone with a vacuum cleaner with a mouth. She's pretty creepy. The Phantom Troupe seem unstoppable and I predict the Shadow Beasts are going to just be cannon fodder. All I can say is, this arc suddenly took a jarring turn for the dark and I am curious as to how this could possibly end. There seems to be no way that Kurapika can possibly win this fight.

In Japan, this episode (and chapter, I'm assuming) was considered the "This just got real episode". I don't think people expected the brutal auction massacre at all, and because it happens almost immediately at the start, it doesn't even give you much time to prepare.

So yeah, the Phantom Troupe, everyone. Ruthless, but they have fun doing it. Now we'll see what the Shadow Beasts can do.

Real-world religions in a heavily fantasy-based world seems odd. Shame about Kurapika's comrades going down. I wasn't big on Baise after she used that butler as a shield, but she still didn't deserve a fate like that. After these events, Neon being kept in her room makes a lot more sense.
