I was just listing off names and identities, Cass is my favorite Batgirl which is why I put her as Batgirl, for Stephanie I prefer her as Spoiler to be honest. Oh and yeah I know it's Nightwing by fingers just want to write it with a k.

Anyway as I say in a lot of topics (Ultimate Spider-man and the 2012 TMNT right now) I hate prejudging a show before I have seen it. I believe that a show needs one to five episodes before I can make a true opinion. I hate that people denounce a show as [junk] based on still images and clips and I would not do that.

it's ok to fear the worse but it's not ok to know a show will suck before you have seen it.

Saying the show will be light hearted because it's an early Batman? I don't get it. Hell my conclusions by the still image looks like they are going with a crime noir feel which explains Katana and gun using Alfred, but even that is jumping to conclusions with out all the information.

So to repeat myself as I'm so good at that speculation is fine, judging a show that is still a year or so off it not fine.

Mod Note: Please watch the language.

You could have easily found it all on page 22 of this thread...but the most recent news is from January 17th, 2012 from Movie Web.
    1. Kurtwood Smith is voicing James Gordon.
    2. Smith reveals the first two episodes were recorded before Christmas.
    3. Gordon is still a Lieutenant
    4. Series is set early in the Batman story
    5. Gordon doesn't trust Batman, they help each other on an early case,
    6. The relationship between Batman and Alfred is also still developing

I'm all for a dark new Batman animated series. Like the inclusion of Katana. A gun toting Alfred? Okay, that's strange, but I'll wait and see how it works. The art in the one pic I've seen I didn't care for, but am hoping it'll either get better or grow on me.
But Professor Pyg? Seriously, that's the villain they lead with? I've never even heard of him, but it's hard to take the claims of a darker series seriously when it leads with something so ridiculous.

Pyg has an intentionally goofy name and costume to make him that much creepier. He's actually a very violent, psychotic freak.

Here is what Pyg does in the comics...

He is a very dark character in the comic and is one of Batman's craziest foes, up there with Joker. The man will have to toned down dramatically for this show. Don't judge a character by his name or appearance I mean Many of Batman's foes are quite ridiculous in concept.

Since Katana's gonna be in the show, I hope they get the lovely Kim Mai Guest to reprise her role from Brave and the Bold. <3 :)

Just like the "darker" Tim Burton Batman lead with a mob boss clown in a purple suit who danced around to the music of Prince (though everyone in Gotham, including Bruce Wayne's fancy casino night, party listened to Prince in that flick)? Or how the sequel pitted Batman against a traveling circus? Well, the series must have darkened right up when it used the tragic and morally conflicted Two-Face, and reached an utter crescendo of dark story telling when they adapted Mr. Freeze's heart breaking back story while teaming him up the man who broke the bat! Right?

Most of Batman's villains, especially the classic ones, are pretty ridiculous on their face. It is how they are used that makes them great villains or dark characters. And, in the comic, Professor Pyg has been pretty bleak. And even if he wasn't, remember what Clock King looked like before BTAS got a hold of him.

    Hey hey hey!

Hey there DC Fans! I've been gone for a long time. I missed this site!

So, aside from Kurtwood Smith as Gordon, and it being a young Batman, and the featured side characters.. any more news?

Any images? Promotional stills, aside from that initial one, a while back?

Good to see an update. In terms of DC Comics animation, he worked on The Batman and <cough> Brainiac Attacks.

Do shows generally have multiple storyboard artists? I'm just wondering because he said "my" first episode, and I'm wondering if that doesn't mean the pilot could be farther along.

Hmm, I think if there's two directors they'd have their own team of 3-4 storyboard artists. That is a good point, they could be further along with storyboards and they must do multiple episodes at a time. Pays off for those that look at all of an episode's credits, I tend to zone out after the voice cast...

Yeah, one series alone will need multiple storyboarders (if the episode director themselves aren't doing the boards) because multiple episodes need to be put in production at once. It's not like one guy can do several hundred panels for one episode, then start up the second episode right there and then.

Is this show likely to premiere in November?

I hope there will be a panel for it at SDCC!

There will probably be a panel at SDCC this year. Young Justice had a video presentation with test footage, concept art and interviews with the creators and I think Green Lantern got a similar showing. Chances are they'll air the first two episodes in November and then start it early next year.

Don't like so much the animation, but perhaps, the story will be good!
