I Didn't see a talkback up for the newest Brave and The Bold episode in a minute so I'm making it now. This is the talkback for the third episode of this show.

EDIT: This was made back when I made the thread but apparently James Harvey made it in the past or soemthing and just never updated it until after I made mine. Don't know how he did that... or really why when the thread was already there but whatever.

"I'm hurt that you didn't tell me that you were stopping by!"

Common, even the Super Friends didn't go there.

    wow Aquaman
    he's so jolly :anime:

eh. you can slap on any personality for him and it works.

that Manta dude really doesn't have a flat head, does it?
i was reading about him, and the animation is making it seem like his outfit is off.

It's strange to see Aquaman so... happy. He hasn't been this way in the comics for decades, and Superfriends was the last time he was shown this way in animation. It's kind of refreshing, until you remember it was this sort of banal happy-go-lucky style that kept on boring readers in the 60's, leading to Arthur's title getting cancelled and recancelled.

Nah, he's human, he just does his evil under the sea.

And yeah, Aquaman is hilarious. He's like Errol Flynn.

Who is that doing Aquaman's voice? I know I've heard it before.

I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a DC show like this in a long, long time.

While this episode is good, I can't really help but get annoyed about these few moments of genre blindness.

Although more people know him as the voice of the character who coined this phrase: "Bite my shiny metal ass."

Anyway, so far this episode seems to be one of the cheesiest ones in the show so far.

Yeah I'm definitely hearing Dr. Drakken or Bender coming from Aquaman's mouth.

I give this one three out of five stars (Bat-Good). It's O.K., but it's a little weak in places where the first two episodes weren't.

DiMaggio's Aquaman sounds great. Like Kenny's Plas, IMO he's a pleasant surprise. Orm's voice, on the other hand, I thought could have stood to be something a little deeper.

It's clear from the first sign of Fluke that he's going to end up showing up later on in the episode to save someone's Batbutt, although in a way I suppose one could see that as a nod to the self-sacrificing porpoise in the '66 Batman movie - and kudos to having Batman punch a shark again. You can never go wrong with that. :D

Also, while I didn't have a problem with the Batplane transforming into a Batsub - since that's the kind of flat-out merchandising gimmick I've long come to expect from WB's handling of the Batman property - the animation of it was poor in comparison to the way the plane was animated in the previous episode.

I really did enjoy this episode. Black Manta had a creepy voice, which added to his character. Aquaman didn't bother me with his optimism. It was quite amusing at times. I belive this was one episode where the hero didn't have to prove himself as much to Batman. Which is a good start.

The opening was great as usual. Loved the Pandora's box theme with it. Atom was really cool, even if he didn't say anything (did he?).

    8/10

"Where Batman goes, adventure is sure to follow"

Best quote so far in this show.

"Fluke. The world's most obnoxious dolphin."

Awesome quote. I pretty much loved this episode. Black Manta was a cool character, and I liked Aquaman's bragging attitude.

¿The Atom is Ray Palmer or Ryan Choi?
