The Blu-ray disc is out just in time for my birthday. :harley:

The next DC Universe animated movie probably won't be released until early 2018, so I'm not surprised that it wasn't announced in this press release. Maybe we will also get a trailer for The Caped Crusaders vs. Two-Face (or whatever the title turns out to be) if that isn't available about the same time as this movie.

I'm a little surprised "Harlequinade" isn't one of the bonus episodes. Other than that, it's cool to finally have an official release date for the movie.

Perhaps they left "Harlequinade" out due to the (blindingly obvious) structural similarities pointed out by Bruce Timm in the sneak peek. It's a pity though, since "Harlequinade" clearly inspired this movie on some level. Including it would have been a nice way to pay tribute.

Great minds think alike! Your post popped up just as I was typing mine.

Yeah, the Caped Crusaders sequel could come out at the same time, as you say, or before - you never know.

The end of August?!?! Nooooooooooo! Either I'm way too impatient, or that seems like a long time to wait for what I would assume is a completed animated movie....

That's true. Usually it's right after SDCC. Hmm. EDIT: Yeah, the last time there was a sizeable wait was 2012 when The Dark Knight Returns Part One came out September 25 but the releases were almost back to back as in that same year the previous movie, Superman vs. The Elite, came out June 12. That was when a lot of staff was moving around and they tried to rebrand the line as DC Comics Premiere Movie.

Saw the featurette on the Wonder Woman Blu-ray re-release. Not much more to add, other than I'm excited for this. It'll be nice to have a movie that harkens back to the B:TAS style, and of course more Harley is good.

From @ArkhamHQ16: Best Buy has a photo of the Harley figure in the giftset box. And another clip.

EDIT: It's the Batman-Sarge Steel scene.

Wikipedia is listing the Dynamic Music Partners (Michael McCuistion, Kristopher Carter and Lolita Ritmanis) as the composers of this film's score! Wonder if it's true...?

I was under the impression that they scored pretty much all the WB DC DTV's...?

The only DC Universe Original Movie they scored before now was The Killing Joke. (And Return of the Caped Crusaders from the DC Classics line.)

Other composers like Christopher Drake, Robert Kral and Frederik Wiedmann have composed the music for most of the DC Universe Original Movies line.

Obviously the DMP wrote the music for the DCAU films back in the day (McCuistion did Sub-Zero, Carter did Return of the Joker and Ritmanis did Mystery of the Batwoman), but they've barely been involved in the DC Universe Original Movies line.

    Ah, I see :ack:!

I guess it could be possible that, with Timm and the DCAU-inspiration for this movie, they were brought back for this, though I'd wait for an official source to list them before taking Wikipedia at face-value ;).

Haha, I did mouth off quite a bit there - sorry! (Big fan of the DMP!)

Yep, it could be false... I guess we'll see!

What are the chances Tim and Barb are in this or at least mentioned?

I don't really care if they're actually in it, but I do think a cameo or a mention would be really cool, and just kind of a nod, like, "Yeah, <wink wink>, you it's canon"

Since I'm a "Pre-Justice League Joker death believer", I think Tim should be absent and Barb shouldn't see Harley Quinn since the last time she saw her was in the ROTJ flashback.

I'm pretty sure this is it's own continuity.

Maybe, but I am far from convinced of that.

That is an odd position to defend when the Joker has appeared on Justice League.
