The latest issue of TV Guide mentioned that next year, The Batman will add Batgirl to the cast. She'll be a teenager, which TV Guide thought was a big deal for some reason, & she'll be a classmate of Poison Ivy.

Okay, Batgirl will be a teenage, that's nice. But doesn't that mean, being classmates, that Poison Ivy is going to be a teenager also in "The Batman".

Poison Ivy being a supervillian while going through puberty, now that is scary. ;)

A buddy of mine emailed me this image of Batgirl's design -- I guess it was in TV Guide. The color scheme is kind of "Yvonne Craig" and sister's got a bit too much mousse in her hair.

You put carriage before the horse

Wasn't Robin suppose to come in first, yeah I know that this isn't the DCAU, but won't the child demographic they are clearly tinkering to, be smart enough to figure this out?

    Hi there.

The design isn't that bad. For some reason I had bare mid-riffs and pony-tails in my head when I heard about this, but it's pretty faithful to the comics which is nice, and in all fairness I have mid-riffs and pony-tails in my head most of the time anyway.

BUT SERIOUSLY... the eyes are awfully big though, don't you think?

    Have a good day then.

The TNBA Batgirl design was just the comics Batgirl design. As for this design, it's not bad, I guess. It has elements of the BTAS Batgirl design, which is cool. I might start watching the show again to see how the character pans out.

Not a bad design. Seems like that's just some style guide or licensing art though. I'm curious to see it animated.

::sobs:: There go my dreams of seeing Cassie as Batgirl...

But in all seriousness, the design could grow on me. It's the personality I'm worried about...

To me it just looks like they borrowed some elements from TT's Starfire and then added a cape and Bat insigna.

Why is her head so big? Has she been juicing up...;)

The big problem with this is that Robin should come first. It would be cool to see a two parter where Dick comes to live with Bruce and then trains to become Robin. Batgirl could always come later in the season, after Robin is established.

TV Guide pics of Batgirl and Ivy

Yeah, Got the TV Guide in the mail today and saw the pics. If there aren't any better pics elsewhere I will scan and post them later tonight.

Bringing in Batgirl instead of Robin is purely a marketing ploy
to attract young girls into the show. More proof of how 'kid-friendly'
the Kids WB is trying to be.

(Hey, at least they're distancing themselves from the Dini and Timm
version-- so they won't be accused of copying!!)

Batgirl showing up first to me is like Bane being earlier in Batman's career to me: I don't care, as long as the show is good. Her design....wow, talk about anorrexic. The Batskirt is also weird, but we've all seen weirder crimefighting outfits before (WW's bikini, B'wana Beast's loincloth, etc.) so its not like I fazed. Hell, I like most of the villian's designs, I'm pretty unbiased when to adaptions (although I'm easily amused by the most simple and primitive things :p )

Poison Ivy as a teenager....sure, why not. The show needs more female villians, and TT has deaged alot of villians like the Hive Trio anyway. From the sound of things she's going to be Batgirl's archnemesis. Ivy will probably be the stuck-up kid, the two bicker in school, and then duke it out unknowingly in their other identities. The idea of a scrawny teenager like that in design fighting crime is ridiculous....but so is any teenager....and any adult for that matter....with bullets and knives and bullets....SWAT teams tracking you to your base....er, what was I talking about again?

How can Kids WB be kid-friendly with Yu-Gi-Oh still airing, I mean that shows like so adultish, seriously I even enjoy it. Its better than The Batman if you ask me, see if they can air that show, if you've seen it its actually dark, then you think they could make The Batman dark by dealinmg with the whole Robin ruit. Oh by the way whoever broght up Bring in Robin, you rock, thanks for following my footsteps(ahh an aprentice, bring me the head of the one called The Batman, or Skywalker if you prefer.)

I would hate the idea of a ttenage Poison Ivy, I mean what kind of teenager dresses up lik that and goes crazy, she ain't gonna be no doctor. Ithink she should be the biology teacher, she goes crazy, and ends up being laughed at by her students, thus hating all kids, and becoming Poison Ivy, also she would have to go through the whole transformation process. Now that would be awesome, then they could make her become PI and then batgirl noticing her ex biology teacher has gone crazy, thinks she needs to stop her, and edventually she just gets used to the idea of Batgirl. See evn I can come up with better story ideas than some of the episodes of The batman, maybe they should hire me?

I've seen quite a few episodes of YuGiOh but I would not describe it as being adult by any means. Sure some of the beasts are creepy and the story line can be a bit dark but it's not mature in tone at all.

I finally saw the Doomsday Sanction, and that is a cartoon episode that is adult in tone. The whole episode feels like I'm watching a movie and Batman's "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LAUGH" line at the end. Yikes.

Anyway, as far as a teen Poison Ivy? Why not. Wouldn't be that different from other reinventions on the show, although I don't think the age difference would be that important.

    Haxor begins

Only when haxored worse than DBZ. It had to cut, and ripped to shreds for it to be acceptable.

Well this is rather interesting, Poison Ivy and The Batgirl classmates, we'll see how this works out. Interesting.

Oh, that would be great if you could post a scan Rick!

For Batgirls design, I like it.
