does anyone hear actually own any Mighty Crusader comics
Nah, the artwork is terrible. It's like they wanted a piece of Marvel and DC's pie but couldn't be bothered to put out any effort.
lol can you supply another sample but something like The Shield or someone..
Talk about a catchy villain name...
i might buy these to see what it was all about and add it to my collection (anyone have them that can comment on them???):
Does this one was a knock-off too?
As far as I can tell (from the covers) "Cookie" was merely inspired by Archie, not ripping it off altogether. Most Archie ripoffs went for the full monty--they had a teenager, one or two girlfriends, a buddy with a weird name that despises girls, an egomaniac rival with black hair, etc.
When did Betty turn into Kelly Bundy?
im as shocked as you are right???
I think that was before the Comic Code happened. In these days Archie won't be nude, except at the beach.
I read somewhere that Jughead's real first name was really Forsythe. Does anyone know when (if ever) this fact was revealed?
its been revealed to many times........if you got on the Who's Who on archiecomics.com you'll see it there
I finally got around to buying/reading the Archie reprint digest of the first Archie issue, plus the meeting of the two Archies story.
The early Archie was interesting, if looking ungainly (and Timmy Turner-esque beaver teeth).
Guess the "Archie of Two Worlds"-type story means there's an "Earth-2" Archie... I await seeing the follow-up story, "Crisis On Earth-Archie".
Yeah. Archie wasn't even the first "funny" book about teenagers, so any book with young people can't be ripping off Archie unless it fits your criteria, of which there are many. Cookie looks like something I wouldn't mind reading today. Nice art.
Earlier this month I received the Archie comics digest issue with the reprint of the first Archie Comics #1 inside. The stories had the original word dialogue rewritten possibly since the original masters were lost and possibly an old copy of Archie Comics #1 in storage had to be used.
Nah, I doubt it. I don't think they'd lose something that important, especially since the master was available for the Best of the Forties collection. Was a lot of the old-timey dialogue missing? Remember that they've "updated" old stories before.
Someone should compare the two. Now who owns Archie #1?
Try to find a copy of the 1942 Archie #1 on e-bay or at comic conventions or comic shops on the web or place an ad in the Comics Buyers Guide magazine.
I got the digest a few weeks ago. Why didn't they show original Veronica in the Archie meets Archie story? Why couldn't Betty say "It's time for the Shadow," instead of the Silhouette? The 4 Stooge Brothers is suppose to be the Three Stooges, due to the fact that Moe, Curry, and Shemp are real life brothers.
