    I've always wondered who composed for what shorts on Animaniacs!. Now, thanks to the Belgian Society of Authors, Composers, and Publishers, I have a breakdown of the amount of time each composer worked on each episode.

    CJ=Carl Johnson, GG=Gordon Goodwin, JB=Julie Bernstein, JES=J. Eric Schmidt, RS=Richard Stone, SB=Steven Bernstein, TK=Tim Kelly

    Please note, this is VERY work-in-progress. Later I'll try to infer which specific shorts they worked on, based on the time codes. Also note that not every episode has info (or complete info), as some listings on the SABAM site are unavailable unless you’re a registered user. Plus, some have very vague titles that don't indicate what episode it is. Still, I think this guide gives a good idea of how much the duties were split up between the series composers:

    1. De-Zanitized / The Monkey Song / Nighty-Night Toon: SB=0:40 (Richard Stone listed in credits, but I couldn’t find him listed on SABAM)

    I think it was in the sense that there was a composer and an orchestrator (usually Julie Bernstein, though later episodes had Ron Goldstein and Steve Holtman), but it would be very difficult to co-compose a short, I would think. Not impossible, though.

    Before anyone asks, SABAM is a reliable source. I've found a wealth of previously unknown info from their cue sheets. The only inaccurate info I've found was when the Ren & Stimpy cue sheets listed a song that didn't actually play in the episode, and I suspect this is because the music was changed between the time the cue sheets were submitted and when the episodes actually aired.

    Another thing I've found were the uncredited composers for the various Disney Afternoon shows. No, Mark Watters wasn't the only composer for Goof Troop and Bonkers, despite what the credits say. He was assisted by a bunch of uncredited composers whose pre-recorded cues accompanied whatever new music was done by Watters for each episode. But that's off-topic- I can start a discussion about it in the Disney forum if anyone is interested.

    Not for episode numbers, since they used info from other sites, regardless if it's correct or not. But, yes, interesting website.
