April 1, 2012 - On March 31, 2012, 4Kids Entertainment bought the rights to the anime-licencing company FUNimation Entertainment. As apart of this, they also have dropped the rights to B Gata H Kei: Yamada's First Time, Panty and Stocking with Garterbeit, Hetalia: Axis Powers, and other shows rated TV-MA. "We want to please young fans." A 4Kids rep said on the matter. "We don't want parents mad at us, but at the same time we hope some of the 12-17 demographic stays with us." He also mentioned how their first priority will be dubbing the Digimon series that FUNimation previously owned. "We feel the need for a show clearly aimed at kids, with no editing required, to come first." They will also be reaching out into the manga department, picking up manga adaptions of FUNimation shows like Fruits Basket. As of now, all shows previously available from FUNimation Entertainment have been removed from streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix, and Crackle. FUNimation Channel is currently off-air right now as well, but 4Kids states they're trying their hardest to make sure we don't have to wait too long.
