    First is Kiddy Grade 2.
    YAY.

Second is Romeo x Juliet, another classical story which will be adapted by GONZO.
Director is Junichi Sato, composition by Reiko Yoshida.

Wow. Never expected a Kiddy Grade 2. I guess the FUNi DVDs sold pretty well.

Gonzo did a great job with The Count of Monte Cristo; it'll be interesting to see what they'll do with Shakespeare.

Am I the only one sick of Romeo & Juliet? First off, it is a terrible play, one of Shakespear's worst. Second, they already did it with Basilisk, as it is pratically the same story only with samurai. Last, anything Gonzo does is crap except for Monte Cristo.

Junichi Sato doing Romeo x Juliet seems promising. Though, what's the point? We all know how it's gonna end. :p

(Unless they give it a happy ending, and completely ruin all that is R x J)

    Kiddy Grade 2?

Fruits Basket 2 is more justified... :(

But if it's as good as Kiddy Grade was then I'll surely be watching it.

They could go the Tromeo and Juliet route and change the ending while still being very much in the "Shakespeare" spirit (ie, pretty twisted). But even with a happy ending there's no way it could be worse than this.

Were these announced by FUNi, or were these announced in Japan?

I know Kiddy Grade 2 will be licensed by FUNi. I wonder if Romeo and Juliet will be licensed by FUNi too.

I agree Fruits Basket 2 would be great but I think I heard the problem here is with Fruits Basket's property owner (as in they didn't like the first series and don't want any more anime made at this point), so there isn't much anyone can do about getting a second Fruits Basket series until someone changes their minds on letting one happen . [BTW, I do think Funi 100% supports a second series of Fruits Basket so they're not the problem here]

As to the Kiddy Grade 2 news - can someone clairify where that news item came from? I'd like to pass it on to another board but I'd feel better doing that if I can find a source to quote to back up the news.

Well, not everything Gonzo goes to FUNi though.

Actually it was the manga-ka not liking the director, while the studio liked the director, which put them at a bit of an impass as far as making a second season.

Which I can sort of understand from the manga-ka's point of view. The director took major liberties with a few plot points late in the series; the last episode would probably have to be re-animated/retconned entirely to get the plot back on track and in league with what happened in the manga.

Not to mention that only 10% of what Gonzo does is actually watchable.

However, Funi did put out the first series so it would be a shame to see the show go to another company and possibly end up with different English dubvoices :(.

Anyway, I found the source for the news! Someone posted in the thread on this subject over at AnimeOnDVD. It's in Japanese but I ran it through Google and it does look to say what is being reported

50 Check 'E Cheese credits says Funi gets both of these. They're obviously paying for Kiddy Grade 2 and I wouldn't be suprised to see their name in the Romeo-Juliet credits either.

And Funi does 100% back more Furuba to the point of sending the show's principals in Japan a couple thousand paper cranes to try and change their minds about not making more.
