This thread is pretty self-explanatory. Both Batman: The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures and Teen Titans have featured the character of Nightwing. In both of these series, we got a pretty fair look at the respective designs. Which Nightwing design do you like better? The one with the mullet, or the one with the long hair?

If only for the lack of the hideous mullet, the TT Nightwing.

Meh, they're both similar enough that I don't prefer one over the other.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Perfect design... plus a mullet. The Teen Titans design is the next best thing though -- if you've got to have the long hair, better it not be a mullet, I suppose.

    Have a good day.

The New Batman Adventures. I think the emblam on the TT design looks a little silly. Kudos for trying something original, but it never really worked.

Nightwing is in dire need of a revamp. His costume's never really been up to much. Unless drawn just right, it comes across as really, really dull.

TT Nightwing is a far better design. Of course, it is no coincidence that Glen Murakami had a hand in both designs. Not only does TT Nightwing look much better, but the action scenes that featured him were so fluid and beautifully animated that they stood out over anything featuring Nightwing in TNBA.

I disagree over the edge featured nightwing and thats one of the most fluid DCAU batman episodes.

Well... it you really break down both... they are both the same design in the same style with slight modifications/alterations. However, those modifications (the different color usage, the more practical "uniform" look) do make the TT Nightwing more appealing to me, I think.

I like them both, but I totally dig the obvious "pretty boy" in-joke in the TT Nightwing design.

Teen Titans has the crest done better, but I think everything else is better on the B:TAS one (minus the mullet).

I don't like the anime stretched face of the TT one.

I have to agree. In addition to liking the shorter hair, I enjoy the current comic book version the most.

While I think Stu was correct when he stated that the costume in the comics can come off as rather dull if it isn't handled properly, I still prefer it to either of the animated versions.

I appreciate the effort of the bird logo on the chest, but I really like the batwing style mask from the comics for a "wing-motiff." That's been a part of Nightwing's design since his first George Perez costume from 1984.

Also, I understand the new streamlined look that was being introduced for TNBA probably led to the super-streamlined look of that costume, but it always bugged me a little that NW didn't have any visible storage (such as his gaunlets from the comics) for his gizmos and weapons.

i agree...the comic version of nightwing is way cooler. the only non-gay looking man-in-tights design i've seen in a while.

and his costume looks good without a cape. capes normally look cool but nightwing pulls it off well. but in reality, capes would probably just get in the way.

I like the TNBA design better.

BUT, while i never minded the "mullet" (and i also never really saw it as a mullet, more like it was slicked back), i do think the TT nightwing had sexier hair. just me though. it was very anime. peace.

I like the TNBA version quite abit more. The TT version seemed like they put too much detail into the ugly parts of his face.

I never really thought of it as a mullet either, but my brother was visiting me and saw my TNBA Nightwing figure just about the time the Teen Titans episode with Nightwing happened to be on TV. His first reaction upon seeing the TT Nightwing was "Was happened to his mullet?".

    Have a good day.
