I suppose the least I could do, for now, is try to figure out where I left my last copy of the thing...

Long long ago - it was around six years - on a bulletin board far far away - the old Warner Brothers Club - there was a Story Board on which the founders of toonzone and their friends pioneered the concept known as the chainlink fic. Many fics regarding the Animaniacs gang, Pinky & the Brain, Freakazoid, Histeria, etc. were written and they were written well. I have fond memories of Package Deal, Circle Closing In, Mousefeathers, Warner Academy, Fastest Mice Alive, and many many others.
Of course some fics were never really completed. Chief among these hanging threads was Mouse In the Mirror. The authors were Romey, The Siren, Craig, Sharklady, and The Cute One.
The plot concerned The Brain getting sucked into an alternate dimension and switching places with his more timid alternate. In this alternate dimension, mice have taken over the world, and the dictatorial ruler of the mice and of Planet Earth, is the Emperor Pinky.
In that other world, The Brain we know and love throws in with rebels led by Billie and Snowball, as well as Mahatma Slappy, to try to overthrow The Emperor. Their means to doing so include making a cola-flavored deal with the Warner Syndicate, and another deal with Ralph.
Meanwhile, in our world, the timid alternate Brain is steered by Pinky and Billie to fulfill a plan Our Brain had on the drawing board: to take over the world through winning a tv contest, the winner of which could be either President, or something else.
Now, I'm saying all that to say this: Isn't it about time for this fic to be finished? I realize that the bulletin boards are littered with unfinished fics - Skippy's Parents comes readily to mind - and I know that some of the authors are no longer with us, but some of the authors are still with us; and according to one of them the last time this subject came up, they had planned this fic out to the finish. I for one would like to see how they intended to end it.
So great do I fins my desire to see this through that I have come to a decision: I will give the authors a week to get this fic back into view and try to finish it; if there's no activity on that front by then, I will bring it out of the archives myself and display it on this board. I'm not sure if I have a right to do this, but I've decided that enough is enough.
Those few on these boards who have been here longer than me, including the authors, I appeal to y'all: bring back Mouse In the Mirror.
Thanks for letting me speak my piece, and I look forward to what will happen, whatever it is.

Mouse In The Mirror? was that like a famous fanfic or something?
I have nothing worth putting in my signature.
No more than any of several fics which were actually finished, although it might have had the most attention of any of the fics that weren't.
Here, let me just post the link to the old boards: http://wbc.toonzone.net/wbcbb_archive/
MITM is on Story Board Archive #2. Have fun.

Huh... you know, Siren and I spent countless hours helping archive all those posts, yet I had completely forgoten about that particular archive. I also see that I never got around to posting up the WBC part of the thing. Hoo boy, that'll be a blast, some day.Originally Posted by Nftnat
Reading some of MitM... I'd also forgot about just how wonderfully the story began. Brain's plan is geniously too over-complicated for its own good. Oh, and as much as I love Billie's character, why is so fun to torment her so? Will I ever know?

Oh, for those not in the know, you click on any of the posts on the story board (or elsewhere in any of those works), you'll get an error message. So add .html to the URL and you're good to go. Oh, and if my experience yesterday is any indication, you'll have to click on the messages from the board itself every time; every time I tried clicking on a post from another post I got the not responding thingy. Just letting y'all know.
