Special Friends-a poem

They are so important!
They make us happy, just to know they are there.
They can help us to laugh.
They make life worthwhile,
They are our special friends.

They can be human or not.
They often are related,
They don't have to be.
They can be who they are.
They are more important than gold.

Loneliness is an emptiness that seems endless,
Yet, when we talk with our friends,
It loses it hold.
We come alive, and feel their warmth and trust.
They help us to endure,
When we struggle just to take a step.
They make life enjoyable and liveable.
For they are our special friends.

Wow....that poem really speaks to me.

It says. Now, I'm gonna kick your butt twice as hard.

But seriously it's so true how your poem is. I can totally relate to it. Very well done and I like it alot.

I can definitely relate to it. It was a comparison from one school year to another...one year I find myself alone, trying to talk to someone but they wont' talk back. And then, I find someone in the next year and before I know it I am not hurting anymore. Loneliness hurts.
