Robo dog (Spider Man):



on candystripe legs robo dog comes
softly through the shadow of the New York sun
stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
looking for the mouse maid shivering in bed
searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
suddenly! a movement in the corner of the
room! and there is nothing i can do when i
realise with fright that the robo dog is having
me for dinner tonight

quietly he laughs and shaking his head creeps
closer now closer to the foot of the bed and
softer than shadow and quicker than flies his
arms are all around me and his tongue in my
eyes "be still be calm be quiet now my precious
mouse don't struggle like that or I will only love
you more for it's much too late to get away or
turn on the light the robo dog is having you
for dinner tonight"

and I feel like I'm being eaten by a thousand
million shivering furry holes and I know that in
the morning I will wake up in the shivering cold
and the robo dog is always hungry...



Ranger Plane Crash (Jupiter Crash):



she follows me down to the sound of the sea
slips to the sand and stares up at me
"is this how it happens? is this how it feels?
is this how a mouse falls?
is this how a mouse falls?"

the night turns as i try to explain
irresistible attraction and orbital plane
"or maybe it's more like a bat to a flame?"
she brushes my face with her smile
"forget about stars for a while... "
as she melts...

meanwhile millions of miles away in space
the Ranger Wing machine brushes jupiter's face
and disappears away with barely a trace...

"was that it? was that the jupiter show?
it kinda wasn't quite what i'd hoped for you know... "
and pulling away she stands up slow
and round her the night turns
round her the night turns...

yeah that was it
that was the ranger wing crash
drawn too close and gone in a flash
just a few bruises in the region of the splash...

she left to the sound of the sea
she just drifted away from me
so much for gravity...
