Facebook Bridge finally installed

Remember when the forums kept going down in December? Well, the first time happened while I was attempting to install a Facebook bridge for the forums. Since we've had the new server up and running for awhile without issue, I decided to give it another go. It installed without too much trouble.

You may now link your toonzone and facebook account. Go to your User CP. Scroll all the way down. Look for Facebook Bridge on the left sidebar. Click on Options. It'll prompt you to connect your accounts and then you should be good to go.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this mean people can use their Facebook accounts to post on the forums?

EDIT: I just tried linking it to the Platypus Comix Facebook and it didn't work.

Well, I wasn't aware that when I did that, that my avatar over at toonzone would change to my current profile pic. *quickly changes back picture of me holding a gator to Marty McFly.*

I just linked it with my personal account. But I do know that FB no has the option to use the site as your page. Might be worth checking out.

It was still a quirky install. Someone else had said that they managed to get through it with the same weirdness I ran into. So, I kept plugging away. It was just faster about it because more powerful hamsters are used to keep the server running.

I'm experimenting with it now. It force-fed my Facebook profile picture as my TZ avatar, despite my keeping the avatar sync "off" in the options menu. So I had to manually turn off the avatar again.

Yes. It was cute once. There's not too much of a point beyond that.

I had to go through that too. I do apologize for it. I don't think there's anyway around it.

I'm still messing with the options to see what everything does. There's one option near the very bottom that can't be set to "allow"...the one about displaying a wall tab/profile box or something. It just gives me a pop-up error message.

Also, all of my posts here on ToonZone are being cross-posted to my Facebook page, and thusly, all my friends' news feeds, which is highly unnecessary, so I turned it off. At least, I think I did.

I turned that off as well. I want the option to post to Facebook, but I don't want all of my inane posts there.

I'll research that error tomorrow.

I try to make sure that none of my posts on here end up on FB as well. That's a little... unnecessary for my tastes as well.

No, the problem is that the forum is linking to a blank nonexistent page and saying that's my Facebook page, and it won't let me change it.

I made a post earlier today through the Toon Zone iPhone app. That seemed to do it.

Top of any forum page click on User CP.

For Twitter:

1. On left-hand side of screen (the column labeled Your Control Panel) under Settings & Options, click Edit Options
2. Scroll down to bottom of the page that appears
3. Under the heading labeled Miscellaneous Options, look for vBTwitter. enter your Twitter username and password and click Save Changes

For Facebook Bridge:

1. In the User CP, under Your Control Panel on the left, scroll down till you get to Facebook Bridge and click options
2. Click Connect with Facebook
3. Unleash the demons
4. Click Save Changes and look for holy water

Yeah, it's done that to me, more than once. The last time I even got in a bit of trouble.

Happened again today, although I haven't touched the iPhone app lately. Just posting this in case Harley discovers a pattern of doing something behind the scenes that causes the forums to grab my Facebook pic and use it as an avatar, despite my always setting the TZ avatar to off.
