Amazon.com Looney Tunes DVD Sales Ranks!

Yes, the Looney Tunes DVDs are now available for pre-order at Amazon.com. No artwork yet, so hopefully it will change...

Anyway, the sales ranks are great! The Golden Collection is definitely ahead of these other poor releases.

1. Looney Tunes Golden Collection - #372 in sales rank
2. Looney Tunes: Stranger the Fiction - 4,822
3. Looney Tunes: Reality Check - 4,823
4. Looney Tunes Premeire Collection - 4,824

Notice how close the last three are? Bizarre...

Anyway, it's nice to see the Golden Collection so ahead of these other releases. The ranks are very likely to change in the future, but I still think this is interesting (and hopefully the actual sales will be like this!).

Also of interest is that Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends: The Complete First Season is ranked at #90 among best-selling DVDs.

I just pre ordered one, and it's already at 311 in the sales ranks. I hope that it outsells the other DVDs by far.

I'm wondering if the Gold Collection will be more popular on online shops while the Premire Collection will be more popular in brick & mortar stores.

I'm going to revive my Carlin signature, because like George, I'm bothered by the word "pre-order". I just wish I could print the payoff to this signature.

Ordered mine! I'm proud to say, as an editor and fan of Beagle Boys comic book stories, that my order brought the sales rank to precisely 176.

Just asking you guys in the states...

How come you're ordering the set from Amazon? I'm pretty sure places like Media Play/Suncoast will carry the sets for the same price... Plus you'll be able to get it the day it comes out

Me, I'm just posting this stuff! I can get it for $45 at Costco the day it comes out... But I still think that the Amazon.com sales ranks are interesting.

Oh no, I agree, it's always nice seeing classic cartoon items outselling other crap...

I still think it's mind-numbing how the webcartoon DVDs are so highly ranked compared to the Premiere collection...

The Media Play stores usually have sets on sale the week they come out.

I probably can get it at Best Buy or Circuit City for a good price though...

I'll be pre-ordering my set through CDUniverse, Their prices are always cheapest, shipping included. Plus they accept Paypal:

http://www.cduniverse.com/productinf...cart=152630371

I'm gonna wait to get my Rocky & Bullwinkle set first though because the one thing I dont like about internet orders, is that I'm always worried my box sets will arrive with bent corners, etc and I'm obsessive about the condition of my dvd's, which is why I'll first wait to determine the condition of my Rocky & Bullwinkle set as I've never placed an order for a box-set through this site before.

OK guys - the race is on!

It's vitally important that the GOLDEN COLLECTION set sell better than the other Looney Tunes sets. If you want to continue seeing classic Looney Tunes restored and packaged with great extras on DVD, you must buy (from any legitimate retail source) the GOLDEN box - and NOT buy the others (unless you REALLY want them).

The reason: the sales of the GOLDEN COLLECTION will convince Waner Bros. that there is a large audience of adult consumers who want this kind of product. As hard as it is to believe, the powers that be at Warner Bros. Home Video do not know this. The GOLDEN COLLECTION is a test, an experiment.

If the Premiere Collection (and that other crap) sells better than the GOLDEN COLLECTION, then that is what you'll get instead.

I think you guys know how important this is. Spread the word. Let's make the GOLDEN COLLECTION a hit. The 2nd & 3rd wave are on hold until they see the sales figures from the first wave. If the sales are great, the 2nd wave can be out as early as next summer.

I think you should make an announcement like the one above to have featured on the main page of every animation related media site in order to help the cause and get people to realise the importance and possible effects of supporting this release.

Btw Jerry, can we get a word on the final artwork? Do you know if the "new covers" are definitive?

The covers are, unfortunetly, out of my control. I believe the new cover you've seen is the final one, but I do not know for sure.

Never judge a book (or DVD set) by it's cover.

Why'd they change it, anyway? Was there some problem they had with the original proposed box art that you used to have a picture of on your site?
