Looks like The Dark Tower is dead again.

Despite their enthusiasm for the project, I'm starting to think that Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman, as well as Russell Crowe, are the wrong people to make this, and that they are the reasons that it keeps getting rejected by studios. Maybe it has to do with their idea of making it a muliti-media theatrical and televison hybrid, or maybe it's just because they're not bankable names anymore. I really do think if they had someone like Christopher Nolan (and I'm not being a Nolanite saying this... because I'm not) and Christian Bale or even Hugh Jackman involved and it was either a movie series or a television series (not both) Warner Brothers would definitely have gotten behind it.

Aaron Paul Has Had Meetings About Playing 'Eddie Dean' In THE DARK TOWER

Is Liam Neeson Interested In 'Gunslinger' Role In Ron Howard's THE DARK TOWER?

I think Aaron Paul would make a great Eddie. I'm still hoping they sign Timothy Olphant for Roland though.
"Winter is coming." "Bango Skank was here." "The enemy gate is down" "Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain."

The project has been cancelled under Ron Howard's direction, but some concept art is appearing on the net:

First Look: Ron Howard's Adaptation Of Stephen King's THE DARK TOWER (Cancelled)

This film should be done by Frank Darabont, I'm sure he probably doesn't want to dedicate ten years of his life to it, but he is the man to do it. Not Opie.
