"Big Time Rush" Series Talkback (Spoilers)
Nickelodeon's New Live-Action Comedy/Music Series
BIG TIME RUSH
Created by: Scott Fellows ( Ned's Declassified, Johnny Test)
Starring: James Maslow, Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena
About the show: Big Time Rush is a series about friendship and brotherhood that chronicles the finding, making and breaking – of a potential chart-topping music group. Each of the guys brings something different to the group as they figure out their place in the crazy business of music and entertainment. A naturally gifted singer, Kendall never planned on becoming famous but definitely has the swagger of a music star. After seizing this opportunity of a lifetime, he leads his friends on an exciting comedy and music-filled journey. James has big dreams for himself and his pals and his confidence in their potential for success helps the other guys deal with the more difficult moments. Carlos looks at life as a big playground and this foray into music as an awesome ride that he is on with his buddies. The brains of the operation, Logan is the voice of reason and his sharp wit gives everyone the perspective they need to stay true to themselves and their goals. Life in the business is not easy and their antics often get them in trouble with the record label. From falling for the same girl to redecorating their apartment at the Palm Woods to misbehaving with a new school teacher at the recording studio -- the group learns that success comes with hard work and dedication – and the support of one another.

Big Time Rush
Episode #101/102: "Big Time Audition"
Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon
In the special one-hour preview of Big Time Rush, 16-year-old Kendall (Kendall Schmidt, AI, Gilmore Girls), is inadvertently discovered by eccentric record executive Gustavo Rocque (Stephen Glickman) during a nationwide casting call and must choose between staying home in Minneapolis with his friends and pursuing a singing career in Hollywood. Not seeing himself as a solo act, Kendall strikes a deal with the Hollywood image-maker and agrees to undergo “pop group 101” training in exchange for giving his best friends – James (James Maslow, iCarly), Logan (Logan Henderson) and Carlos (Carlos Pena, Ned’s DeClassified School Survival Guide) – the opportunity to be in a music group with him. The boys travel with Kendall’s mom (Challen Cates) and younger sister (Ciara Bravo) from the snowy Midwest to sunny Los Angeles, where they move into the Palm Woods, a swanky temporary housing development where entertainment companies house their budding new talent. But the boys soon learn that life in Hollywood is not all about hanging at the pool and attending late-night parties: they quickly realize they have a very short window to prove to themselves and their record label that they are serious about their new career choice.

The guy who created Ned's Declassified made this?
I'm intrigued now.

This was pretty good. FAR from as good as Ned's, but it certainly wasn't bad, but IMO this shouldn't have been picked over the High School edition of Ned's Declassified.
The gag with the commercial star kid hiding was pretty funny.
Is the whole series going to be 1-hour episodes, or will it be half-hour?

It's too late for that. Most of the actors have moved on. Lindsey Shaw is on 10 Things. Dan Curtis Lee is on Zeke and Luthur. And, Christian Serratos has a supporting role in the Twilight series. If they were gonna do a high school edition they should have done it two years ago.

I'm no expert on the world of television filming, but can't an actor be on two shows at once, especially if they have different filming schedules? Shaw and Lee are both over 18, so any laws about the amount of time a minor can do filming wouldn't apply. Dunno.
More on topic... Did the guy who played the A-hole producer also do the voice of the boss of the company Bob Parr worked for in The Incredibles? Sounded like it, and I tried looking it up, but couldn't find his VA.

I've seen some episodes with the baby, Cosmo sure does make a lot of dirty diaper jokes . I have not seen Wishology though; it is cool that he'd return to the series.

That was pretty good, the classroom scenes had the good ol' Ned's Declassified vibes in a way. Hopefully there'll be more of that later on.

I just watching this series last week and was instantly hooked. Nick seems to be hitting the mark with a lot of their newer series lately. I hope they can keep this trend up because for the first time since Ned ended, I'm actually looking forward to Nick's live action properties.
