Unless by some unlikely chance that they've done most of the voice acting already, or they got him a new VA, the voice actor for Aku passed away.

Who knows when the movie will be done? At first, I thought it would be late this year, but since Genndy is now working on ANOTHER animated series for Cartoon Network...

No one's heard any production news since the beginning of the announcement, which was like 2 years ago, wasn't it? In that time, Genndy seems to have just been hanging around at the Orphanage (They said their first movie would be done by 2008, but nothing yet), doing storyboards for Iron Man 2, working on Maruined (his Cartoonstitute short) and now Sym-Bionic Titan. Hopefully in that "dormant" time he was working on Jack.

I thought we heard recently that Mr. Tartakovsky was still working on the movie. Either way, I don't mind the wait, since I still have yet to see every Samurai Jack episode. I just hope it doesn't fall into development hell, because Samurai Jack needs a conclusion.

Well, if you have iO (like I do), you can now catch Samurai Jack (like I can) on the newly added Boomerang.

EDIT: Sorry, Jack's not on Boomerang.

Which I don't...

I checked on Amazon, though. It looks like I can get the entire series for under $30, though.

Never mind, I just realized he's not.

I thought he was because I was at my aunt's house back when Toonami was still around (she has Boomerang too), and so I was switching between watch Jack on Toonami and Boomerang, and so my memory got mixed up. Sorry about that error.

i can wait too, it's better to wait for a great well done movie than a cheap ending just for money :S maybe 2012? ^^

Well, I recall that Mr. Tartakovsky wasn't working on the Samurai Jack movie yet. Once he finishes work on whatever his current projects are, he wants to do a movie with Frederator Films, and they were, like, cool with that, or something.

...

I think.

This thread was bumped, so as of now yes Samurai Jack is on Boomerang, however it wasn't 3 months ago. So you're not wrong, but they weren't either.

they should do a SJ movie were he returns to the past to fight Aku along with the scotsman but in a desperate attempt to save himself Aku transports jack and the scotsmen into the real world and live-action then they could do a final animated battle in a live-action world...............

No, he is on Boomerang. I just watched an episode the other night.

Justice League Unlimited got replaced in favor of Jack earlier this month.

I have to wonder with the death of Mako what the status is on this film. He is the key point I think to the development. Other than that, Genndy was making Dark Crystal 2, and now this new series.

So, IMHO they're waiting on other films for Fredator studios to make money on before starting work on SJ: The Movie.
