Disney XD Launch Date
It’s being reported that Disney XD is going to launch next month on Friday the 13th. I guess executives at the house of mouse aren’t too supersticious, but either way, I thought that I should spread the word.
Quote:
The Walt Disney Co. will launch its rechristened Toon Disney as Disney XD on Friday, Feb. 13 at midnight. The transition will premiere with a transfer from The Disney Channel, the animated comedy Phineas and Ferb...
...In addition to Aaron Stone, the launch schedule includes two new animated series: Kid vs. Kat from Studio B Productions in Vancouver and Jimmy Two Shoes from Breakthrough Animation and Teletoon of Toronto. A previously announced animated series, Kid Knievel, won't debut until later in the year. Two short-form series will be RoboDz, a 3-D, CG animated and live-action series produced by Disney with Toei Animation of Japan; and Bruno the Great, an animated series produced by Studio Bozzetto & Co. SRL of Italy...

Pretty cool, I'll be able to stay overnight to watch the switch. Definitely taping this moment.

I was just about to post this. Good to get an actual date finally. The press release on medianet mentions a lot of shows but still doesn't even acknowledge RPM.

I didn't know about that. I'll post the highlights from the press release here so that others can check it out.

Wow. That's a lot to digest. Just before seeing this, they sent out a February Disney Channel schedule. But, the XD release says the 7pm premiere of Aaron Stone is going to be seen on both DC and XD, but the Feb. schedule sent out shows nothing about that -- just a regular rerun of SLoZ&C.
I find it odd that they're loading up Saturday morning. They tried that once with Jetix on ABC Family (new WITCH and SRMTHG late in the morning) and it didn't work too well.
Of course, with Fox now out of the Saturday morning kids business, that's one less 'opponent' to deal with.
The release DOES have the first official recognition of "Spectacular Spider-Man" but to not include RPM is stunning and totally confusing.

Go to know that premieres are on Saturday, so it doesn't interfere with my other programs. Hopefully, they'll have a Saturday night encore.

Too soon to say if there's going to be any sort of block of premieres on Sat mornings or if it's just a launch gimmick.
When they get around to sending out a full Feb. schedule, I'll pick it apart and post the important details.

February 13th, eh? I don't care much about Disney XD, but I may tune in to Toon Disney at 11:59pm to see the official switch to XD, just out of morbid curiosity.

Since it took all of 10 minutes for there to be proof that's it's already incorrect, I'm not posting nothing officially until the send a revision.
But, assuming that 90% of the schedule is accurate, the month looks to be BORING if you're looking for new eps. Not including Playhouse, here's the count of new episodes for the entire month:
Replacements 2, On Deck 1, Wizards 1.
That's IT.

That is strange indeed considering that Disney is promoting a new show for next month.

Oh, BTW, 'Dadnapped' is NOT on the February schedule.

I'm beginning to think Disney likes to baffle its audience.

Is their any chance of Disney Dubbing the Stitch anime & Putting it on DisneyXD? ....I mean Would would think since their doing RoboDz that they'd eventually do Stitch as well!

I don't see why they would when he American version is still running here. Besides, I don't think that Lilo & Stitch really fits in with Disney XD's "image".

I'd prefer Monday premieres for the shows, but that's good I guess. I'll be watching the Aaron Stone premiere.
