I don't know if anyone knew this, but DC Comics has up the podcasts of each of their panels from Con '08, and revealed from the Batman panel was that Paul Dini is one of the writers for Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Later on, he mentioned that Batman will be with Bat-Mite in his episode, but I don't know if he was joking or not because this came from a question of whether Bat-Mite could return (which he has recently) to the comics.

Superman's rights are currently not available, but even if they were, Tucker explains why no Superman at the moment in our interview with him.

Y'know, it could just be that I've not seen the trailer yet...but Batman looks suspiciously like Frank Miller's Batman from Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

Y'know, if this wasn't suppose to be kid-friendly I'd say add in some über-violence and people getting teeth knocked out and it'd be incredible.

Mr. Tucker says here that the robin they use is will be Dick Grayson...i don't think it makes much difference. I hope we get a Batman & Hawkman team-up eventually.

I'm sad no Joker confirmed as a villain yet
But the other villains are cool sounding. Ack I'm going to give the show a chance and see how it goes

Not only has Joker not been confirmed, but in one of the interviews, when asked whether they had plans to use him, someone flat-out said "no" in response. Oh well.. doesn't really bother me. They have a wealth of other characters to choose from.

Batman with no Joker? That's like Superman with no Lex.

...A quality product!
I think we've seen enough of Lex and The Joker for one decade, the novelty's goin' to wear off.

yeah i think they're aiming to focus more attention on the other characters as opposed to batman. ya know, kinda like the comic book? i don't think batman's core villains are essential to this show's success. we've seen plenty of them in other shows.

Who else should they use: Hawkman/Hawkwoman? Stargirl? Captain Marvel/Mary Marvel? Hawk and Dove? Zantanna?

If they can do a GLC episode, I think they should be able to one with the Titans, Metal Men or Doom Patrol in the future
One thing, I loved about JLU was that they were able to introduce so many forgotten DC heroes to the general public. It's great that this show will be able to do that as well. Sort of like what the old B&B comic series did for comic fans

This is Batman. They can't not use Joker. He is comedy to Batman's tragedy. Like Frank Miller said, Joker completes Batman. They have to use Joker!

But if the producers are going for a "lighter" Batman, then they don't necessarily need the Joker, as Joker's main function is to lighten things up in the generally dark, grim Batman universe. Besides, the main focus of The Brave and the Bold is the team ups with the other DC heroes, not showing Batman's rogues gallery. We've seen Batman square off against the Joker many, many times on many, many other shows.
