A look at Ben 10: Alien Force

Quote:
Happy New Year! Sorry for lack of updates, but this is goign to be one exciting year for Ben 10.
Well here it is… The big reveal, and our New Years gift to you!
BEWARE SPOILERS ABOUND! ——————————————————————————–
Here’s what we know about the new series:
Alien Force chronicles the story of Ben 10 five years after the original series. In this sequel series we will find Ben in high school with the Omnitrix re-calibrated for a 15 year old… and an alien invasion of earth! The children of the plumbers are recruited to help Ben with this task. ( One of the people in this ‘Alien Force’ is a Pyronite)
Older Characters… Ben is a bit more mature, Gwen now has long hair and is better at her magic skills than ever before, and Kevin is now helping the group with better controlled powers - and has Ben’s respect.
At least 5 new Omnitrix aliens will be revealed ( more on those later)… And That new mode of transport I’ve been talking about? Non other than a modified Plumbers vehicle…. a Green Muscle car for Kevin.

That’s about all I can give right now… but Alien Force is really heating up!
We are also close to revealing the brand new layout for this website which will have more alien force info and pictures, including some of the new aliens on the Omnitrix.

Wow, Ben will be 15? That's a pretty big time jump. Gwen looks completely different, too.

And shouldn't they change the name of the show to Ben 15: Alien Force?

How about Ben 10: Shippuden?

Ben kinda reminds me of Terry McGuiness.

Something tells me that Ben 10 would do a Power Rangers (and by that, I mean make lots of spinoffs).

Huh, Kevin is a good guy (at least temporarily).

I wonder if the Sexy no Justu lookin' Mud Puppy Cousin will be in the series?

So...does this mean they're going to just ignore the "Future Ben" stories from the original series? After all, in those episodes, Kevin was still a bad guy and Ben still had a gauntlet-styled Omnitrix (yea, it changed, but it's still a bulky gauntlet).

Yes,the Ben 10,000 timeline is going to be ignored, since afterall it isn't canon. That info wasn't supposed to be revealed yet,but because of a little n00b who wouldn't listen to reason the webmaster had to release it. Theres also a link to a nice set of storyboard sketches on their forum, gives you a further look at what to expect.

o.O If it's not canon, why make it in the first place?

It's a safe bet that the writers and producers weren't planning to make a new spin-off show when they wrote "Ben 10,000"; it was most likely just intended to be a throwaway stand-alone episode. So you can't blame them if they don't want to make that canon; they can simply retcon it out of existence as a timeline that only might happen as opposed to being the concrete future.

They seem to be doing a DBZ storyline on that particular front- specifically the Trunks story. Remember that the Ben 10 movie had one future Ben as the bad guy, and the series has established Ben 10,000 as another possible future Ben. Since Kevin is bad in one possible future, it doesn't mean he will be in this one.

I wish that picture had a better quality, did they steal it from Man of Action's server or something?

The show's title quit making sense by the beginning of season 2.

Well, hopefully this show won't spin-off a Gwen show where she uses magic all the time.

Gwen could do her own show if she wasn't already on Ben 10 but because the audience is used to her being a sidekick, it wouldn't work out.

While I'm not a fan of Ben 10, it just never really seemed that good to me, the information about the new series does sound interesting. I might check it out once it preimers. It might be one of those shows that I just watch for the heck of it.

I'm not sure that the audience used to her as a sidekick on Ben 10 would really make it impossible for her to have her own show. If the creators decided to go somewhere along that route and they wrote it out well enough, then the main auidence could possibly enjoy it.

In the Ben 10,000 world Gwen goes off on her own missions. It was also the episodes where she acted as Lucky Girl that got the most praise during the first couple of seasons. She could easily get her own show, but I'd like to see her grow a bit more first, and it sounds like that will happen in Ben 10: Alien Force.

I'd wager 20 dollars one of the episodes of the new series will have Kevin turn evil again, at least for one episode, or have some throwback to his maniac days.

As for the future stuff, time travel is always iffy in shows, they could have erased the future we saw just by interacting with their future selves. Or it could just be an alternate future we saw.

Wasn't the whole premise of "Gwen 10" the look at a what if scenario in an alternate universe Ben 10 World? You know with Gwen (and later Max) getting the Omnitrix instead of Ben (who only remembered so it could look like he was a hero even without his powers). So why couldn't there be branching off different universe/timelines of the Ben 10 universe then for alien force? I'm pretty sure what is in Alien Force will either reformatt to the Ben 10,000 verse or just be its own seperate universe from that. We'll only know in time but it's interesting to see where they're going with this. Obviously Ben 10's still important to CN Original Action and this spinoff will help hold that for a couple more years. Whether we'll seen more Ben after this undetermined but if Alien Force takes off who knows we could even get a third series or something.
