Spider-Man Unlimited #3 ![]() Writer: Eric Stephenson Pencils: Andy Kuhn STORY: Pete accepts a challenge to get pictures of "the Brute". Tagging along with Counter-Earth's Reed Richards, Pete discovers that here Reed is an egotistical snob who appears to be a sycophant to the Beastials. The two attend an exclusive party "up top" where the Beastials live. While Peter is confronted to have his ID chip scanned, the Brute crashes the party. Spider-Man and the Brute fight and fall onto Reed's hover-car. When Spidey wakes up, he sees he's with Karen O'Malley and Bromely the human resistance fighters. There, he discovers the secret of the Brute. Spider-Man Unlimited #4 ![]() Writer: Eric Stephenson Pencils: Andy Kuhn STORY: Peter takes a rented scooter ride with Shayne and Naoko through Verdant Park in Counter-Earth's Manhattan. Curious about life outside of the city, he questions Naoko. She is clearly uncomfortable discussing what may lie beyond. Spidey travels to the other side and is quickly dragged under water by a tentacled creature. He awakens in a tree-house in a forest paradise called "Harmony". Here, humans and beastials live together in peace after seeking refuge from the reign of the High Evolutionary. Once you enter Harmony, leaving is rarely an option. Spidey is given shelter by Counter-Earth's Gwen Stacy. Gwen leads Spidey to the tunnel, and he escapes back to Manhattan. Spider-Man Unlimited #5 ![]() Writer: Eric Stephenson Pencils: Andy Kuhn STORY: Someone is attacking people, viciously removing the victim's sub-dural ID chip. Spider-Man encounters another victim of the killer and someone who appears to be a more feral version of Earth's Wolverine. The two have a prerequisite "misunderstood-heroes" fight until Wolverine disengages the melee to investigate a scream. The killer is actually a shapechanger who calls himself "the Chameleon". Bat-Mite breaks the fourth wall in "Legends of the Dark Mite," addressing a fan who questions the tone of Batman The Brave And The Bold: "Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but it's certainly no less valid and true to the character's ''roots'' than the tortured avenger crying out for mommy and daddy."
