In other news, WWE is apparently working on anthology sets for the Royal Rumble and Summerslam, although no release dates have been set.
Hope you better hold on to your VHS Copies of every Royal Rumble from 1988-2002 or Summerslam from 1988-2001 you got because I fear for the following to happin to the Summerslam and Royal Rumble anthology DVDs:
-Jessie Ventura's Commentary on the 1988-89 RRs and SS's may be removed
-Summerslam's 1998's themesong was AC/DC's Highway to Hell and it might be replaced.
-verbal and visual references of WWF (Except for the 1984-1997 old school WWF logo) might be censored out.
-A Whole Lot of music changes
If I were you, I should transfer old VHS tapes of every Royal Rumble PPV and Summerslam PPV to DVD!

They left Ventura's commentary alone on the Wrestlemania Anthology, I dont see them cutting it now for these sets

They'll probably pay him for Anthology sets, and I'm not too concerned with music replacement. I'll be ecstatic just to have Summerslam '91 and '92 in DVD quality.

Edit - I got Judgment Day '06, and if you're interested in the extras, the main one here is Booker T's coronation on SmackDown.

After watching Hard Justice, I think I can live with WWE blurring out the old WWF logo. It sure beats the hell out of TNA bleeping guys whenever they say X-Pac, Michael Shane, or the Outlaw.

Dirtbag, that problem is on Lockdown too, although they did alternate commentary for Kip and Bentley matches where "the Outlaw" and "Michael Shane" names were used originally. Did you get HJ at Best Buy? I read that it was just released as a Best Buy-exclusive along with AAO '06.

Unless they actually bleep them you dont really notice something like that but you do notice a half dozen blurrs at one time

Muting is every bit as annoying as bleeping. It's not the actual sound, it's the principle. I could be wrong, but I doubt WWE is going to pull the same garbage that the World Wildlife Fund is pulling on them and sue TNA if they use what may or not be trademarked material on shows that already happened.

WWE threatened TNA with legal action if they didn't make those changes due to WWE claiming they owned the trademarks. BTW, Hard Justice is now part of a three pack DVD with No Surrender and Slammiversary '05 that was previously an internet-only thing, but it's now just $20. I've only read it being available at Future Shop stores in Canada, but I'm hoping it's also available in U.S. Best Buys.

I guess it's been confirmed that Barely Legal '97 will be included with ONS 2006. While I'm very happy to have it, it could go to show new fans what ECW was at its peak and make them (even more) disappointed in the new ECW.

I bought the DVD yesterday. Surprisingly, the Best Buy I'm close too had it out on shelves a day early. So, I'm watching Barely Legal right now. I'll let everyone know that two pay per views for 20 dollars is a great deal. I definitely recommend ECW One Night Stand '06.

A couple of days ago, I got the DX DVD as a pre-birthday gift (as part of the family get-together.). I am telling you this right now: WWE has butchered this release like hell. All the curses are bleeped, as well as the nudity (nothing was censored on the VHS release in '98), and there are no extra promos listed in the extras, which is a downer. Unless it is a must in your DVD shelf, don't get the DVD, get the VHS and convert it instead.

I just got Wrestlemania 22 on DVD, i'll review it at a later time.

I was overjoyed to find out today that ONS 2 included Barely Legal in the U.S. and wasn't just a U.K.-only deal. That was one of the best PPVs ever, and a bundle of both it and ONS 1 might just be the best PPV DVD set ever. I'll definitely get this bundle once I see it on sale at Wal-Mart. Vengeance will also have a second disc, but unlike ONS 2, it won't be filled with an incredible PPV - it'll just have a bunch of wrestlecrap from Raw and a couple extra matches, so it'll be worth having for entirely different reasons. I ordered the XWF DVD set from Wal-Mart's site the other day, so I'll probably review that at some point.

I got my ECW: One Night Stand DVD in the mail today. While I haven't seen the actual One Night Stand PPV itself, I've seen the majority of Barely Legal. After watching it, I feel like Barely Legal is the main disc with One Night Stand being the bonus. Trust me, even if you feel like One Night Stand isn't worth the money, Barely Legal definitely is. So far, the best match I've seen was the Sabu vs. Tazz grudge match. Sabu's hardcore style and Tazz's mat wrestling style really collide to make an entertaining match. Not to mention the outcome after the match itself is completely unexpected.

I was kind of expecting the PPV to be butchered, but the only changes have been entrance music and some f-bombs and s-bombs from different promos. The crowd chants and reactions are left completely untouched.

Two great PPVs for the price of one. This is one of the best deals I've seen in a long time.

More like one great PPV (Barely Legal) and another mediocre at best PPV (ONS2006).

I really hope that WWE re-releases ECW WrestlePalooza '97 one day. Sadly I was never able to acquire it when Pioneer re-released it a few years back. Luckily though I have a VHS copy that was taped from the PPV. I <3 the local store that has a bunch of rare ECW VHS tapes.
