Definitely Chaotic Century. I mean, the other one doesn't even have a plot to it; it's just.... there.

Re: Chaotic Century or Zero which do you prefer

Not even a contest. Even though Century has been relegated to some early-morning death slot, I'd rank it as equal to some of Toonami's best shows like Outlaw Star. Century is more like a "real" anime series than the Pokemon-meets-Beast Wars retread that Zero is.

The Century series is far superior and actually it has story...

Zoids is just a fun anime to watch for jokes and what stupid things they do... Except for couple of those last episodes with the Ultimate X...

My vote goes to Century...

Although I would prefer to say that I like them both they are just different, in the vote I said that Chaotic Century is the better series, It has a much better plot and you really get into it (although it had a REALLY slow beginning). However, Zero has the better sense of humor and dialogue. So I like both.

Chaotic Century is SOOOO much better than Zero. Better Plot, Character Development, Better Battles, etc. I also love "Wild Flowers".

Re: Chaotic Century or Zero which do you prefer

I have a hard time answering that question. If you want great drama that keeps you hanging by the fingernails to find out the next day's episode, Chaotic Century is great. If you just want some mindless fun to wind down after a hard day, Zero is ideal. If a question of which has the best Zoid though, I'd say the title character of the latter series has Chaotic Century beat by a mile. In the Ultimate X episodes, Bit basically faced a twin to the villianous kid who's been kicking our heroes around the past few episodes of Chaotic Century, yet the Liger Zero triumphed because of its smarts, heart and tremendous speed (sorry Zeke!).

In other people's opinion, my friends found Zero to be better in battle style, but still found CC better being all new.

IMO, I find CC to be better. Just a better storyline. To add to that to make it even much superior, it has more characters, 60 some episodes, and more Zoids.

I also heard Zero was rushed for merchandise reasons.

The sad thing here is that until they move Chaotic Century into the afternoon, I'll never see it. (I usually sleep from 3AM-10AM)

As for the so called lack of a plot in Zoids Zero, I disgree. No, they don't get into a full blown plot, infact This seems like the first season for what should have been a longer show. I do admit that it seems incomplete, however I disagree with the idea that it has no plot. It may be a simple plot, but on the other hand, there is very little that can not be distilled down to an absurdly simple explanation.

And in fact, they make fun of themselves in the plot. Take for instance when the Liger Zero gets it's transformation parts. They decide to not try and attach them manually because it "Wouldn't look cool" IT'S TRUE.

When I was a kid, and still today, I love watching things transform. So that part of the series appeals to me. (I LOVED Transformers too...)

But there is a plot. Simple though it may be, it is auctually more complex than other shows I have seen, and the fact that the series is linear makes it even more complex, just in a different way.

I don't know, I just hate these kinds of comparisons.

I mean you could do the same thing with Dragonball, and Dragonball Z... Personally, I like them both equally even though they're different.

So, I have no doubt that I'll enjoy Zoids CC if they ever run it at a decent hour, but even then, I'll still like Zoids Zero.

Yeah I personally prefer zero because of the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously at all. It knows it exists to sell models.

The good thing about Zoids Zero is that, except for the Royal cup arc, the story dosen't take itself seriously at all. It knows it's just a tech demo designed to get kids buying models. Chaotic Century tries to come off as a Gundam esque series and falls flat on its face, with 1-D characters that no one cares about. Raven comes off as a flat-faced ripoff of Char Aznable, while the Backdraft ace pilots have a fluid feel. You don't watch it for the story, you watch it for the characters and the fights.

I voted for Zoids/Zero biasedly because I watched more of that series than Zoids/CC. I watched SOME episodes of Zoid/CC and enjoyed them, but I don't know the plot, so I can't judge it.

Zero is to Gundam Wing as Chaotic Century is to the real Gundam saga (with MSG, 0083, etc). I mean, Zero was fun, but... in the end, there's no comparison. Papayas for everyone!

I would like to pay homage to the creator of the vcr, otherwise I would NEVER have gotten to see chaotic century, or a dozen other shows that have air times during the time I am at work, school, or with friends.

Dark Spider, you should try getting back into Chatoic Century. I personally didn't like it at first, it started out really slowly, but it gets much better, as you go along.

As for the Gundam comparison...I considered Zero and CC to be in the same universe, Zero is just in the future, with no more wars and tons of open desert space, its perfect for battles. Gundam Wing is in a completely different universe from the UC universe. And, for the most part, I like GW better than the UC century.

Hey, speaking of Zoids CC, when will the series end? It seems like it's getting near the end... will it end next week?

If it does, I'll be severely bummed, because I'm going to be gone on vacation all week, and VCR tape is precious...

It shouldn't end for a while because as far as I know CN is merging the episodes with Van at 14 and the later zoids series with Van at 18 into one series. So it shouldn't end for a while...at least I don't think so...

Expect CC to end in about 6 more weeks. Yes. That long. By this Friday, we'll have reached the 30th episode. Leaving 30 episodes left. SO close to Guardian Force!

That sounds about right. Was trying to figure out how many episodes had aired and was coming up with 35 for friday, but that couldn't be correct. However, one more week to go in the first season (34 episodes) seems just about right from where they are arc wise. From what I have seen the second season takes the show to episode 67(?), which is 7 more weeks and two days after this friday.

And back on topic, the two Zoids series are both good in their own right. When I want something that does not require much attention to follow, Zoids/zero is perfect. But when I want to watch a story unfold the Choatic Centuary is better. I also agree that Zoids/Zero ended with a bang me wanting a follow up season. If it had a second season with a strong plot, it could easily have surpassed CC in my mind. But for now, I would have to say CC, but only barely.

Something tells me that Zoid/CC will get a later time slot when it starts over. If not, then I'll just fire up the VCR when it finally starts over.
