Info on "Transformers: Armada," "G-Gundam," and "He-Man" Premieres

Cartoon Network has provided Toon Zone with lots of Toonami news for you today, so sit tight kiddies. Here we go:

"Transformers: Armada" will debut Friday, August 23 at 4 p.m. (ET, PT) with a 90-minute movie special. Then beginning August 30 the 52-episode series will air Fridays at 6:30 p.m. (ET, PT). Here is the series description from Cartoon Network:

Introduced almost twenty years ago, Transformers are vehicles that can change into robots and vice versa. The latest series, Transformers Armada, begins on Earth when three children discover a Pandora’s box from the World of Cybertron (the home of the Transformers robots). Unbeknownst to Carlos, Rad and Alexa, they unearth an ancient battle between the Autobot and Decepticon robots when the centuries-old box is opened. The Autobots and Decepticons battle for control over a third race of Transformers, the Mini-Con robots. Historically a dormant group, the Mini-Con robots are now the key to a crucial source of power and when they are connected with other Transformers robots, they have the ability to enhance the strength and power of the larger Transformers.

"G-Gundam," which was originally scheduled to premiere July 1 at 5:00 p.m, will instead premiere Monday, August 5 at 5:30 p.m. (ET, PT). Here is the series description:

The year is Future Century 60. The elite of humankind have immigrated to various colonies in space, leaving the poor behind on Earth. To eliminate the need for war, the nations develop the Gundam Fight, a tournament held every four years to determine the ruler of the Earth Sphere.

It is time for the thirteenth Gundam Fight to begin. However, more is at stake this time than a simple battle for power. Neo Japan’s Gundam Fighter, Domon Kasshu, is on a mission to find his brother who fled to Earth after stealing a prototype Gundam called the Dark Gundam. For this crime, Domon’s father has been sentenced to a state of suspended animation. Only by winning the tournament and tracking down the Dark Gundam can Domon clear his family name and save his father.

As we previously reported, "He-Man and The Masters of the Universe" will debut with a 90-minute movie detailing He-Man's never-before-told origin on Friday, August 14th at 4 p.m. (ET, PT; repeat on August 15th at 7 p.m.). The series will then air before Transformers: Armada at 6:00 p.m. (ET, PT) every Friday starting August 30th. Here is the series description again, in case you missed it:

The He-Man and Transformers premiere movies signal the return of Toonami's In-Flight Movies in August. No additional titles beyond those two have been scheduled yet, but stay tuned to Toon Zone News for more information as it becomes available.
