What Did You Buy This Month? - November 2009

This. On the Wii. Yeah.
/picks up PSP
/plays Petz: Saddle Club demo

It's that time. For those new, this thread will be devoted to our gaming purchases and gifts during the month. Please post any video games, systems, accessories, and other gaming-related items (strategy guides, gift cards, virtual fun bucks, figurines, soundtracks, etc) you buy or got as gifts here throughout the month. But first, we have the new releases coming out for the month in North America. Here's some notes before we get to it.

-most of the games and dates on this list were gathered by going through the release lists for each system over on IGN during the past few days. Other last-minute bits were gathered from Joystiq.
-ALL RELEASE DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Seriously. After I put it on the list, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 got delayed to January.
-Recently, I've began to go into a little detail for any game that comes with a bonus special edition or a "game of the year" re-release and detail what's different about these versions. I find it a good thing to help out. If you have anything to say about that, good or bad, just PM me or mention it in the comments. Mainly PM me.
-I've also been integrating downloadable content, games and add-ons, into these lists. I won't be doing all DLC (like Guitar Hero add-ons); if they show up while I compile the list, I'll post it. See the respective threads for the console download services for what's coming out for them. As for the schedules, expect Nintendo content (including Virtual Console, WiiWare, and DSiWare titles) to be announced and be made available on Monday; all Playstation content (PS3 and PSP games and add-ons, plus PSone games that can be played on both systems) are announced and released on Thursdays. Xbox content like Indie Games and add-ons are updated throughout the week, with special exemptions being XBLA titles (announced on Monday, released the following Wednesday) and full 360 games (like GTA 4) released via Games On Demand (announced and released every Tuesday).
-concerning the PSP: first-party titles (like LittleBigPlanet and Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier) are also available for download through the Playstation Store if you have a PSPgo or a regular PSP and don't care about having discs. Third-party title availability on there varies from publisher to publisher. And, recently, some titles, like GTA Chinatown Wars and Ben 10 Alien Force Vilgax Attacks, received day-and-date release over PSN outside the regular update.

It was more last week but eh, I got Tales of Vesperia for my cousin to cheer him up a bit(life has been a bit rough for him) but man I'm a bit jealous. I don't have a 360 yet I always wanted Vesperia but, I think he'll enjoy it more. =D

All beware the concussion or memory loss it could cause.

Minor changes to the list:
-confused no longer, Battle of Giants: Dragons (Bronze Edition) is a DSiWare title. The confusion was due to the non-Bronze title coming out as a retail DS game.

-for those of you expecting Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, you will have to wait until 12/8; the game was originally slated for this week when I was composing the list.

I just picked up another time management PC game: First Class Flurry. In this game, you take the role of a pretty flight attendant during an airline flight. I played a one-hour demo of it once and I thought it was great.

Picked up Half-Minute Hero on PSP today while at Gamestop. I was almost tempted to also get Persona and its 2-disc soundtrack, but instead focused my money and saved some of it to get HMH only. I was also disappointed that both Gamestop and the Target across the street did not have the new Jak and Daxter game on PSP, especially since I wanted it on UMD and not have to clear out a gig on my memory stick.

Huzzah for Play N Trade. Offering me the games I wanted back in the day that I wasn't able to buy at the time for very reasonable prices.

For 55 bucks I picked up 5 Gameboy games and an N64 Expansion Pak (and I never see those at used game stores).

Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, James Bond 007 (the one Nintendo published), Pokemon Yellow and Zelda: Oracle of the Ages.

LEGO: Rock Band (Xbox 360)
- $49.99
1600 Microsoft Points Card - $19.99

The points card is for the $10 export fee to get the LEGO songs into Rock Band 2. And that extra $10 can go towards a game, or perhaps more songs.
Also, with these LEGO songs, plus the Rock Band 1, 2 and DLC I already have, this brings my total songs up to 301! I've passed the 300 mark! I'm a loser!!

Never let it be said that I hate the N64. Picked up Hybrid Heaven and Mischief Makers.

Hopefully, I'll get Body Harvest and Blast Corps in the future.

Oh yeah, I also got Retro Game Challenge, which anyone with a DS should already own.

Saw that Target.com has the 360 version of the GOTY Fallout 3 for $40 and placed an order. Been wanting to play this for a while, though I'm not sure how much time I'll have until December.

peacebyanymeans:

Also, as a recommendation on how to spend the remaining ten bucks, I'd go with South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!, if you haven't already. The demo I'd play was really solid and has more action than the average tower defense game. It is a big file at well over 800 MB, but it's fun and may be my next Arcade purchase once enough funds are added in. Either that, or buy I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMBIES!!1! (real title) from the Indie Games channel for a buck and same some for Rock Band Network when it goes live.

Meanwhile, I added five more bucks to my PSN account. I'm now at $21.11, about ten bucks away from getting Fate/unlimited codes (a download-only fighter based on the visual novel-turned-anime) and about 20 bones from getting either GTA: Chinatown Wars or Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. I would have to clear out space on my memory stick for any of these games, but I want them and have enough time and money for one right now.
