Is it me, or do the Family Guy writers really hate Asians?

I could say a lot about what's wrong with post-revival Family Guy, but it's all been said by others except for one thing: Why do they seem to be focusing on Asians more than any other race for their racial humor? I barely watch the show any more, but I can name off the top of my head five examples from recent shows:

- That entire third act of the episode where Lois becomes addicted to stealing, where the Griffins hide out in Chinatown. Pretty much a string of lame racial jokes.

- One of the Griffins watches a TV show with two Asian girls talking about their physical parts. One goes, "Tiny eyes!" and the other looks at her own chest and goes, "Tiny everything!"

- Quagmire's car bursts open and several Asian women run out of it screaming. This joke is repeated later in the same episode.

- Peter randomly goes into detail about how he would have sex with an Asian girl, telling her to be quiet and not be scared.

- The most recent one as far as I knows: The Asian universe in Road To The Multiverse, where Meg commits seppuku and Peter abuses Lois.

I don't consider myself a prude, and I can't think of a time in recent memory that Family Guy (or any cartoon for that matter) offended me. But the constant barrage of this type of joke that seems to really be talking down to the race when there are less jokes about other races is starting to bug me.

A lot of races are made fun of on Family Guy. I don't think Asians get made fun of the most though.

Well you must be overlooking the jewish jokes, handicapped jokes, and the black jokes that overcrowd the asian stings because that's all that family guy does you shouldn't get offended when it's another races turn. That's just what happened with south park when scientology was made fun of after the christianity stings.

It's "Family Guy". What do you expect? They make fun of everyone and everything.

Except for liberals, obviously.

You forgot "I work really hard 'cause I'm no fun!", sung in Oriental Riff. That made me cringe. Still does.

We seem to have forgotten that Stewie and Olivia also made fun of a Jewish cowboy in that same scene.

To answer the question, I don't think that Family Guy's writers are any harder on Asians than they are on Jews, Latinos (Mexican Super Friends? "Padre De Famillia", anyone?) blacks, Indians, homosexuals or anyone else.

You gave 4 jokes 1 not being a cut-a-way or tv look, out of 129 episodes im pretty sure family guy as gone easy on asians.

And if you get offended just dont watch it dont complain.

I'm Jewish, I haven't found most of their Jewish jokes too offensive. The only ones I think went a bit too far was in "Family Goy", but considering how much they make fun of other races, cultures and religions, we got off easy. I don't mind. Heck, one episode they make fun of the Jewish stereotype that we're smart and good with money. if anything, its flattering,even if its not necessarily true.

I haven't seen the Asian jokes as the writers' hatred. Blacks, Jews, Mexicans, Catholics, everyone gets made fun of on this show. I actually saw the Japanese multiverse as more of a tribute than an insult. Is Toshi on American Dad solely a jab at Japanese? I don't think so.

Meh. I've taken a lot fo Jew-bashing from Family Guy, and there is a lot. So in a way I can sympathisize. However, it's Family Guy, they do nothing but stab at other people, so don't worry.

All races get poked fun at in Family Guy, but it does seem like Asians get it more. I think it's because they're still considered an Acceptable Target since there isn't a lot of them in the American population to really make a huge fuss about it.

There are more Asians that Jews in America, I think, just more Jews in the entertainment business. In fact, Wilhelm Fried, later to become William Fox, who started the Fox Film Corporation, was a Jew from Hungary. (Not to mention the four Warner Brothers were Jewish as well.) So Jews are better represented in the entertainment world, I suppose.

No it does not you need a refresher course because asians almost hardly if never got poked until the series came back Asian aren't an acceptable target and it's not like Asians are just really out being satarized like a sideshow.

My friend is Asian, and quotes that a lot lol. She likes Asian jokes if done well. She just can't stand when a complete stranger calls her the racial slang term beginning with 'c'. :/

She thought the driving one was pretty funny too. However the one joke that doesn't make sense to me was the 'tiny everything' one. Maybe that was specifically targeting Japanese, but my friend is Vietnamese and... not to be blunt but uh... 'tiny everything' is far from the case... *ahem*

Family Guy makes fun of everyone for the most part. I don't really say it as hating Asians per se, since if that was the case, then one of my favorite video games would probably have to go under that jurisdiction, Punch-Out!! since face it, practically everyone in that game is a stereotype of some sort.
