The CW4Kids Talkback: Dinosaur King [Season Finale] (Spoilers)

Season Finale (Part 1) Today @ 8:30 AM

Meet the D-Team:

Max is a 12 year-old dinosaur fan and the leader of the D-Team, a group of friends devoted to learning all there is about dinosaurs. He is the son of Dr. Spike Taylor, a Paleontologist. May is a typical 12 year-old boy with lots of energy and curiousity which can sometimes get him into trouble. Max's dinosaur partner is "Chomp" the Triceratops.

Rex is 12 years-old, a member of the D-Team and Max's best friend. His dad is a Paleontologist and a friend of Dr. Taylor's. Rex is living with Max while his dad is out in the field studying fossils. He is a bit more level-headed than Max, but can sometimes be short on patience. Rex is great with computers and extremely knowledgeable about dinosaurs. He is the brainy one of the D-Team. Rex's dinosaur partner is "Ace" the Carnotaurus.

Zoe is a 12 year-old friend of Max's and a member of the D-Team. She is very fashion conscious and can be a little boy-crazy. Zoe is always calm in a crisis and not easily flustered. When there's a problem it's usually Zoe who comes up with the solution. Her older sister, Reese Drake, works at the Dino-Lab with Dr. Taylor. Zoe's dinosaur partner is "Paris" the Parasaurolophus.

Dr. Taylor is a world-renowned Paleontologist who loves his work out in the field and is a fanatic about dinosaurs. Dr. Taylor is the head of the Dino-Lab and is currently helping out the D-Team by investigating the mystery of the stones and dinosaur cards being found around the world. Nothing can make Dr. Taylor go a little nutty like talking about dinosaurs, so when he sees an actual real-life dinosaur... watch out!

Meet the Alpha Gang:

Dr. Z is the leader of the Alpha Gang, an evil gang of villains dedicated to capturing dinosaurs. They hope to make lots of money one day off of organized dinosaur battles. He is a zany, evil egotistical guy whose goal is to become "Dinosaur King" by collecting all of the dinosaur cards hidden around the world. He uses his team of three bumbling villains to go out and find cards for him while he stays in the lab on Zeta Point, researching and experimenting with the cards he has already obtained.

Ursula is one the members of the Alpha Gang. She is very conceited, act likes a queen and bosses around her cohorts, Ed and Zander who she thinks of as her underlings. Even though most of their ventures fail, Ursula is never convinced its her fault; it's only because her looser sidekicks bring her down.

Zander is a member of the Alpha Gang. He tries to act like he's smart and sophisticated when in reality he's akward, nervous and afraid most of the time. Zander is usually the one who comes up with the plan...however, his plan generally fails.

Ed is a member of the Alpha Gang. He is fairly quiet because whenever he does choose to speak, he gets yelled at by Ursula. He is a big coward at heart, and never wants to upset anyone, so he will follow his fellow teammates to the end of the world, no matter how scary the situation.

Rod is Dr. Z's 12 year-old grandson. He is smart beyond his years, especially when it comes to working on inventions with Dr. Z.

Laura is Dr. Z's 6 year-old granddaughter and Rod's little sister. She is a little genuis with numbers and makes money playing the stock market to help fund the Alpha Gang activities.

Seth is the only intelligent member of the Alpha Gang; however, he doesn't like to associate himself with Ursula, Zander and Ed. He gets annoyed with the other three members and is the only real threat to the D-Team.

Haven't seen an episode of Dinosaur King in literally, about two years now. Before heading off to work this morning, I decided to DVR it just for the hell of it. I remember stop watching the series and thinking about how the show had made virtually no progression over the span of about twenty episodes. Things have definitely changed since then. It's actually quite an entertaining anime series.

Just out of curiosity, is the next episode going to be the series finale or will it be the season finale? Has 4Kids definitely signed the show onto another season? For the record, I already have next week's episode set to be recorded. Good stuff.

I'm pretty sure that 4Kids has the rest of the series dubbed since it aired already in the UK.

This was a pretty nice episode. I liked seeing how Seth was even more of a threat with using his new dinosaur to destroy the city. I also liked how the Alpha Gang and D-Team had to work together. I didn't think that Dr. Z would refuse to apologize for his actions towards Rex and his birth parents. Seth showed how cold he was for forcing Max and Rex to give up their dino holders. It was funny how they were all squeezed into the tiny plane and then they had to get rid of Ursula, Ed and Zander.

They did a good job getting in, but it was too bad that they were caught so soon too. I was so happy to see Helga was still there. I was worried that she was destroyed after saving the Alpha Gang. The brief battle with Seth's other dinosaur was pretty cool. I liked seeing that fusion move between Chomp and Ace. For a second, I actually thought that the Black T-Rex was going to eat Dr. Z, but then Rex came to save him at the last moment. It was a touching scene since despite all that he did to his family and friends, he still didn't think he deserved to be eaten. It was nice that Dr. Z finally said that he was sorry. Too bad that they still have to deal with Seth.

Overall, it was a pretty good episode. Now that they have all thirty-seven cards, they'll have to go after that Black T-Rex. I'm really looking foreword to the next new episode to see what happens.

I'm glad they decided to cut off the series earlier this year and save these episodes for the "next season." That was a really abrupt ending for the first series.

The dinosaurs are getting armor and stuff next season? I have a feeling this is going to be really cool.

Say, how long is the second series anyway?

I thought that this was a really nice episode. I liked seeing how the D-Team and Alpha Gang continued to work together. I laughed when Dr. Z was being used as live-bait. It was surprising that Max and Chomp fell like that since the characters aren't usually in danger like that. I was glad that they were using all of their dinosaurs to defeat Black T-Rex since they didn't use any of them beforehand. Even Dr. Taylor got in on the fun.

I didn't expect Seth's machine to change the city back to prehistoric style. That was a little twist. The super fusion moves were pretty cool too. I thought that it was so cute how Chomp was biting Seth's arm like that. Seth getting stuck into that time warp was another twist. While the idea of what would have happened if the dinosaurs didn't die out is interesting, he was going about it the wrong way.

I was confused on how Rex's birth parents got there since I thought that they disappeared into a different time. I thought that Rex's reunion with them was so touching. I actually thought that he wouldn't want to leave since he all he ever knew was in this time period, not where his parents are from. It was sad how the kids had to say goodbye to their dinosaurs, especially for Max, but knowing that there is a second series made me not feel so bad for them. I was also surprised that Rex didn't tell his adopted father about what happened. At least Rod and Laura will hopefully see their parents again.

It was nice to see Max and Zoey hoping that they would see their friends again and then we get that cliffhanger ending. In retrospect, it would have been much worse to stop airing new episodes a few months ago with this ending. The preview for the second series looked really cool, especially for the dinosaur armor. Overall, it was a nice and touching episode. I'm really looking foreword to seeing the new series next week.
