Same idea as the other two polls. Which series do you like? Spider-Man '67 or Spectacalur Spider-Man? Or Both?

I really like the 60s cartoon, which is why I voted for it in the '67 vs. '94 thread. It had a wonderful style and timelessness to it, and definitely provides entertainment value beyond mere camp. (Although it plenty of that as well!) Well, at least the pre-Bakshi episodes did.

However, I definitely don't like the show anywhere near as much as I enjoy Spectacular Spider-Man, so the more recent series gets my vote.

My thoughts to a tee.

All these Spiderman series debate are quite silly really. All are great in there own way. At the time each one of them premiered they were hailed as being innovative. It's why i've back off the SSM vs STAS debate. You really can't compare series that have many year seperating them.

Of course the action in SSM is gonna look better than STAS; STAS was made 15 years ago. Technology has advanced since then. SSM is using the latest animation technology. 15 plus year down the line, another Spiderman cartoon will look even better than SSM thanks to the advancing being made.
So......... 67 Spiderman was great for a 60's cartoon. STAS was great for a 90's cartoon. SSM is great for a modern day cartoon.

If you want to really compare series', compare 1981 Spiderman against SMAHAF. They are loosey based off the same continuity, came about a year or so apart, and share the same character and animation design/style.

1967's Spider-man was incredibly bored. I used to watch this but all of this suddenly, I fall asleep. Blah.

As for Spectacular Spider-man, I loved it and it doesn't bore me at all. I plan to continue to watch more in the future.

Spider-Man '67 vs. Spectacular Spider-Man Reply to Thread

To me, there is only one...Spectacular Spider-Man, he was a real swinger, the series I refer to is...the original animated series released in 1967, was and likely will be the one...Amazing Spider-Man. #2 will definitely remain...Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends.

I don't know how many of you actually watched the 1967 Spider Man show when it was on TV in 1967. I did, every Saturday morning. I liked the show, but honestly, it doesn't hold a candle to the Spectacular Spider Man. I always hated how Spideys costume was missing half of it's web's in the 67 show, even as a kid.

The Spectacular Spider Man is excellent, from start to finish IMO.

In animation I usually prefer classics (80s & before), but ssm is an exception.

The thing(s) I really enjoyed about the new show is that it is based on the comics in the most entertaining way, the colors of the costumes are pretty much the same as the classic show, and there are a few things that are similar to the 80s cartoons.

I voted I like them both as much (I consider Bakshi's seasons a different show, these two are too gross to watch)
