Sly Cooper 4 hint in Infamous!

I've heard a few fans comment on an easter egg in Infamous that hints at the possibility of a Sly Cooper 4 being made (Infamous and Sly Cooper were both made by Sucker Punch). Here's a video of it.

I was really excited when I heard about this! The thing I loved most about Sly Cooper (besides the awesome gameplay) was its unique cartoony atmosphere and the fact that the stories and dialogue were tame enough for kids and complex enough to entertain adults. So naturally I was terribly disappointed when I found out that Sucker Punch had jumped on the current game trend bandwagon and wasted their talents making yet another grayish-brown colored, open-world, GTA style murder simulator.

Hopefully, if Sly 4 is made, it wont pull a Jak and Daxter and turn Sly into an emo whiner clad in black or put Carmelita and Penelope into thongs and high heels.

As much as I love the series, didn't it pretty much end with Honor Among Thieves? I thought it was a fine closing myself.

I did hear they are interested in returning to the Sly Cooper series again after InFamous. It will be interesting to see them pick up the story from the last game, considering it seemed like the end of the series.

I liked the end of Honor Among Thieves. But I was disappointed that it seemed to be the last Sly game. All the flaws from the second game had finally been ironed out and it felt like Sucker Punch had finally found their groove with Sly's gameplay and story. So I thought it was a shame that it ended there.

Another game starting with the gang reuniting might be hard to pull off. But a prequel or a new cast of characters (like Sly's ancestors) might be a good way to go.

I'm tired of hearong people say that it was an end. Bentley specifically said "I'm not ready to give up, because I'm building a TIME MACHINE to fix this." How is that not set-up for Sly 4? If anything, the Sly/Carmelita scene was only to shoehorn more Carmelita missions into Sly 4.

But yeah, I almost had a heart-attack when I saw the movie marquee.

Thoughts?

Good point. The time machine would be a pretty easy way to set up a retcon and get the cast back to the status quo.

hmmm...maybe Sly 4 could have a time-travel theme (like stealing famous items from various time periods). That would be cool.

And maybe Sucker Punch can FINALLY decide once and for all if Carmelita has an accent or not.

Were you really surprised, though? Look at Naughty Dog, a company very similar to Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog sold Crash Bandicoot a long time ago, and they're struggling to keep Jak and Daxter going, letting another Developer make a game just to keep the Franchise alive. It's obvious they want to give all of the attention they can give to Uncharted at the moment.

Honestly, I hope Sucker Punch follows in Naughty Dog's footsteps. Because inFamous needs one more game to really push the formula and give one final, epic, ending(The ending to inFamous was practically begging for a sequel anyway) .

But, if a Sly game does come right after inFamous, (Which this Easter Egg might have been a small hint) I'll be happy, but I'd prefer to have an inFamous sequel.

Actually, they never had it. It was part of a deal between Sony and Universal with Universal owning the IPs. When the deal ended, they took the IPs with them.

Hence why Spyro and Crash have been developed by different companies.

Anyway, now we have Naughty Dog, Suckerpunch!, and Insomniac all focusing on shooters. Obviously, it's because they sell, but I would still like some 3D platforming again. This gen has been weak in that department.

Thank god. I'm sick of the utter lack of HD platformers! Everything is about realism these days, maybe a gritty "comic book" style, and I have friggin' HAD IT!

*huff, huff*

Its fine that you like Infamous and other games like it (different strokes and all that). I just think it REALLY sucks that the only way game developers can stay afloat is to crap out blood-soaked GTA clones starring unlikeable sociopaths. I'm sure Infamous is fun to play, but a little variety is always nice.

Well, actually I'm not fond of the oversaturation of Shooters in the market right now, I think why I'd rather have an inFamous sequel than another Sly sequel right now is because I think I'd rather see a new Franchise grow into everything it can be.

I'm not a fan of Sly or anything but that looks like a pretty good hint towards an actual part 4. I don't see any other reason why they would put it there. Besides a random joke that only the developers get.

Maybe Sucker Punch can do what Insomniac does with its franchises and have most of the developers work on a game (like Ratchet & Clank) in a year, while also starting a bit of work on another game (Resistance), and after the main game's release, focus on the second game while also starting another game.

Provided Sucker Punch is as big of a company as Insomniac, of course.

Not gonna happen, I'm pretty sure Sucker Punch has about a third of the workforce Insomniac has. They also mentioned in a video on PlayStation Home that they've been working nonstop on inFamous for three years now.
