Anakin Skywalker vs Harry Potter

Not a fan of either character, but I have to give Harry a slight edge here. Think about it; When we first met Anakin in "Episode I" he was an annoying kid who said things like "yipee". After that, he became a moody, mopey teenager. Granted, I'm pretty sure that happened to Potter as well, but at least he never joined The Darkside for an extremely flimsy reason (Anakin: "I had a nightmare in which my wife died, help me Palpatine, you're my only hope." Palpatine: "Sure, provided that you help me kill all the Jedi, including the kids." Anakin: I don't know". Palpatine: "Come on, I'll teach you the secrets of The Sith, maybe it'll help you save Padme from a potential, possible death". Anakin: "OK" ).

I'm aware that Anakin later became Vader, one of the most iconic and revered villains ever to grace the screen, but you're not voting for Vader here, you're voting for Anakin. Yes, I know that they're technically the same character, but there's still a difference (or rather, alot of differences).

Ps: It's been awhile since I saw "Episode III" so feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong.

Pps: Note that I don't have anything against conflicted anti-heroes as long as they're well-written and interesting characters.

The Chosen One vs. The Chosen One: Ouch, this is a tough one. I'm going to have to go with Harry, because he always seemed like more of a hero. A big part of that was that he didn't want the job, it was kind of forced on him and he reluctantly accepted it, and managed to do a decent job at it.

Anakin, the so-called Hero With No Fear, on the other hand, spent his whole life wanting desparately to become a Jedi and save the Galaxy. Then, when he finally got his chance, he spent ten years whining that he wasn't being promoted fast enough. After that, he lost his mind and killed everything that had ever mattered to him. Some "hero". In his defense, though, he did have kind of a rough life, what with being a slave, losing his mother, and being forbidden to love is illegal wife, etc.

But, yeah, I'm going with Harry.

And Harry Potter. Again, close match, but I always liked Harry Potter a little more than Star Wars.
