I can't seem to find the names of the artists of these drawings, so apart from my own(Bizarro, B&W Joker, Elmer and Judge Death) and Bic's Venom I don't know who has drawn which. Stu or James, can you fix this?

Overall, everyone did a good job! A lot of entries this time! My thoughts on individual entries are as follows:
Elmer Fudd by Itchy: Ah a wonderful dream Elmer's having, he finally gets the wabbit. I lke the inks here especially the shading. Judge Death by Itchy: Due to the inks, I almost thought this was James' entry at first glance. Again, really good linework here. The disturbing flesh-bits is well done. B&W Joker by Itchy: Good placement of blacks on this one. Very nice contrast. My favorite of your entries. Bizzaro by Icthy: Again solid linework, especially on Howard(?), Bizzaro puzzled look is good as well, though it seems that this is an older and wiser Bizzarro. ![]() Green Alien dude by James: Good weird humor in this (as always is the case from James). Loved the play on the flying saucer bit. Venom by Stu: Nicely done! I like the use of blue highlights, it helps make Venom pop out. The Leader by Turpin: Nice expression on the Leader and the linework is solid. Now I know why he's always so mean, that headband looks like it hurts. ![]() Magneto by Turpin: Again good linework here and I like the radial use of Mag's powers. Good attempt of the foreshortening as well. As for my entries they are: Maleficent - Tried my take on one of my favorite villains ever. This is probably her summer attire under those long robes. I also tried some Kirby crackles for the BG. (Linework in Manga Studio, Colors in PhotoShop CS2) Psylocke & Spiral - Took the idea Stu mentioned about heroes trying on villain's attire. This one was only meant to be a sketch which is why the BG is very rushed. (Entire image done in PhotoShop CS2) Venom - I remembered a B&W cover the Byrne did for Spidey waaaaay back that I loved. So I tried to come up with a high contrast B&W image and Venom came to mind. (Linework in Manga Studio, tongue touch-up in PhotoShop CS2) Joker - This was actually a quick sketch testing my tablet on my HTPC. I tried to emulate James' style with the Joker entry - I think I failed. ![]() (Entire image done in PhotoShop CS2) This was probably the most I've done for a jam, and probably surprised Stu by turning in so many different styles of villains. It was a lot of fun.

Okay, I've been away for a few days, so this is my first glimpse.
LLJ: First off, your serious comment on Bic's pic demands a serious reply. My comments are retrospective, as this is the first I've seen of the image, so I've not actually assessed the "adult" nature of the image officially - this was Stu's ASJ. While it's risque and a little bawdy, its not really graphic in either the adult biology (there are no actually nipples/genitals on show), nor is the scene explicitly sexual (there are no sexual acts going on, just a sexual undercurrent). I must admit, this is close to the adult line (and certainly a fanboys dream), but I can't honestly say it crosses it. I can see why Stu was cool with it, but yes, I can appreciate that for some it might seem surprisingly naughty for the DB. I guess we don't have anyone who manages to tread the line with out being explicit in either act or physical depiction as old Bic. It's not beyond a pin-up you'd see in a comic these days, cheeky (literally) as it maybe! Bic: As I've just said, lovely work - even with the less than usual background to the splash. Venom was an interesting take as well. Not a Dis fan, but your work on the old Disney character is beautiful - great angle. Love that Joker too Bic, a lovely deviation from your usual slick finish. Great composition and nice hand. Lovely submissions! The green guy is Dan Dare's greatest foe - the Mekon! He even has it written on his T-Shirt in case humans like you don't recognize him! It's just a quick pencil drawing which has had the contrasts massively tweaked and splashed with a little colour. Got the message across though - to those who know a little of British comic history... which leads me to...Itchy: Damn, never thought of Judge Death! Great one Itchy. Some nice comedy images too - Fudd is excellent - after 30 years of watching WB cartoons, one can't help want Fudd to get his day. Is that Howard the Duck? I'm not very up on his character, so excuse my ignorance (in the face of my attack on Bic's), but still a colourful and well rendered image. Nice Joker too - can't have a villain line up with no Joker!. Stu - That cheeky Venom face is great. He looks like he's mocking me and asking for a bar room brawl. Well, if he's not careful he'll get it! Dan: Vivid, colourful and nicely executed. Love the leader - classic render. Your style really seeps through on both. We'll see if we can get the images tagged and placed in a 2008 folder this week! Great work people!

) I could see how others like me might have misconstrued the image as depicting a situation much more overtly naughty... I guess I'd always wondered how much the DB allowed and this reminded me to ask about it. I have a pretty general assumption of what would be allowed (no genitals, actual pr0n acts, etc), but never really had an idea as to what extent cheesecake would be allowed. And I don't think anyone has ever posted an "art study" nude here before, so I have always assumed that's probably out too. Again, I have no problem with it but others might, and I just wanted to know for myself when I make some contributions in the future. |

Okay, images have been labeled and placed in folders! All a little neater! So time to start drawing the next one, yes? Great work again people - you veterans are the staple diet of this ongoing, hungry project!

My ultimate goal is just to have fun with the pics, and Stu's suggestion really sparked the idea of that image on day one. Now as I am 'old', as James puts it (which is entirely too true), I probably let my 'adult' artistic side play around too much sometimes. The mods have always been good at letting us know what is and isn't appropriate here, in the case our personal judgment gets blinded sometimes. However it still amazes me that my pic for the couples jam was accepted considering the content for the time.
James: Thanks! As I stated I tried to mimic your style for the Joker image... I still think it's too clean though. Concerning the website itself, I noticed that some jams were missing, such as the one I mentioned earlier. More than likely it's because of the images no longer hosted by individual users, but it is a shame (I really liked James' Blade Runner image for that jam too). ...hmmm... maybe I should have drawn the characters in SD form, it's amazing what you can get away with in that style!

I'm honoured you'd try working as haphazard as mine. Good lord, that 2003 Jam is an old 'un. Barb Gordon, "Red Bird" (Stu), SJJ (some arse of a Brit), Ramso, Salvor.. some old names there...
Well I've pulled what files are left active from that thread, and I'm going to host them on the website - I don't think (for some reason) we have that one up.
