It might affect any films in production at the time; I don't think it would have any affect on films already written, animated and nearing release.

Has there been a solid release date set for Justice League: The New Frontier? It's likely too early for that I assume.

And, because I'm curious, the current slate of DC DTVs are:

Justice League: The New Frontier
Batman Anime
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract
Wonder Woman

Any I missed?

According to Wikipedia the release for Justice League New Frontier is January 28, 2008.
Here is a link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice...e_New_Frontier
However this site is well known for bad information from time to time.
Just look at the Doomsday DTV page, they list extras that to the best of my knowledge do not even exist.

Though unconfirmed, awhile back, along with Wonder Woman the alleged two DTV's after were going to be

Spoiler:
Green Lantern and The Flash

Haven't heard anything in months about it so it's a "?" right now.

The full cast doesn't list Aquaman, even he is shown in the animatics. I guess maybe it is a small role for him like the book.

Yeah, me too...it's actually one of my favorite parts of the book but seems like the type of thing that would end up on the cutting block since its not too important to the main plot.

Be a shame if they cut that subplot out. It's one of the more visceral sequences in the whole story.

Question, are all these DTV all in their own seperate universe as well? As in, the Superman from "Superman Doomsday" is different then the one in the upcoming Justice League DTV, correct?

If so, why did they not try to make all these movies within the same timeframe if they're trying to lure in the same audience with each?

All the DTVs are seperate in their own universe. Which means none are connected. Although there might be a time when there could be a follow up to one of the movies.

Bruce Timm has said that the main reason why each of these movies are not connected to one another is because of common sense. Superman: Doomsday has a universe where Superman is the only superhero, the Justice League don't exist, and set in the modern world. Then there's Justice League: The New Frontier, which has a universe where it has a JLA (maybe even a JSA) and is set in the 1950s.

So it really doesn't make any sense to have the same Superman, if not the same characters, in every movie.

That's basically the reason.

For anyone interested, The Comics Journal No. 285 has a meaty interview with Darwyn Cooke. He goes into detail about working on the New Frontier DVD and its a pretty interesting read all in all. The interview also includes a look at some character models and some other NF artwork.

What's the latest news on the "Judas contract" TT movie? I am really looking forward to this more than any of the others! Mostly just to see how bad ***** they make Deathstroke in this.

There is no latest news and it's unlikely that there will be much as the New Frontier bandwagon is set in motion. If there is news, you'll likely see it here but until then, there's really no need to post asking "what's the latest?"

Chances are, since Superman: Doomsday had a preview to New Frontier on the DVD, the same thing or something similar for Judas Contract will be on the New Frontier DVD.

Maybe, maybe not. I think Wonder Woman is the next project, so if there is a preview, it might be of that.
