"Baby its cold outside",,especially the ultra-sleazy rod stewart/dolly parton version which includes the line (sung by dolly), "What did you put in this drink"

5. "Jingle Bell Rock" (bleah, just bleah)
4. "The 12 Days of Christmas" (goes on waaaaaay too long)
3. "Christmas Cookies" by George Strait (too much sugar in those cookies)
2. "The Little Drummer Boy" (Baby Jesus cried, pa rum pum pum pum... Joseph's eardrums died, pa rum pum pum pum...)
1. "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" (since when do we toast marshmallows or tell ghost stories on Christmas? I thought that was Hallowe'en!)

A note to anyone who records his or her own Christmas music: SLEIGH BELLS ARE NOT PERCUSSION! That's my main beef with Christmas music, hearing "CHING CHING CHING CHING CHING!!!!" on every flippin' beat of the song.

Rudolph, but only when people add those bits to the end of each line.

And if you ever saw it (SAW IT)
You would even say it glows (LIKE A FLASHLIGHT)

suggestion for pictures -- album covers?

"I'll be Home for Christmas" is extremely depressing. It's slow, so it makes you think he really wont make it, and if you are unable to see someone you care about at Christmas, its like being mocked just to hear that song.

"Santa Baby" is just plain creepy. How to put it.. Its like she has one of those weird complexes where she's attracted to these pure symbolic figures or maybe just fantasy men.

I've not heard the Christmas Shoes, now I'm curious..

I think I found it http://www.geocities.com/debspagezz/shoes.html

I'm surprised nobody said "The Chipmunk Song" yet. I hate that song so much.

I'm reminded of this one time that I was at a gift shop (now closed) in the Bay City Mall. The Chipmunk Song was playing on the radio, which happened to be placed right next to a helium tank. I looked up at the cashier and said, "See what happens when you leave the radio next to the helium tank?"

That song, helium voices or not, is still at least tolerable in my book, mainly because I don't hear it 487,000 times every holiday season.

And I agree, Rudolph is annoying whenever the lines are echoed. Just like "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" is annoying only when they add the lines about rootie-toot-toots and tum-ta-tum-tum-Tums, or whatever the heck it is.

I also dislike "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" by Spike Jones (yes, I know, I'm weird.) My favorite funny ones are "Green Chri$tma$," "Santa Claus & His Old Lady" by Cheech & Chong and "Yulenet", the Dragnet parody. As for actual Christmas carols, I hate Little Drummer Boy. Oh, Martianinvader, if you think you don't like John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)", wait until you hear the Three Tenors sing it.

All of them.

I'm dead serious. I hate Christmas music with a passion, and I absolutely refuse to listen to it of my own free will. It's schmaltzy, it's repetative, it's painfully catchy, and I have to hear the same ones over and over again. There's no depth to them, everybody tries to sing them regardless of whether or not they posess the talent to do so, they're the only thing that every radio station plays during the holidays, and I can't walk into a mall between November 1 and December 31 without being bombarded with it. For two whole months, the entire world is strapping me down and telling me what kind of music I have to listen to, and I say "screw that". There will be no Christmas music on my car stereo this year because I've armed myself with my mix CDs of my top 300 favorite songs, none of which have anything to do with the holidays. Sirs and madams, you may keep your "White Christmas", your "Deck the Halls", and your "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" to yourselves - I'll be blaring "Hair of the Dog", "Dude Looks Like a Lady", and "Another One Bites the Dust" during this and all subsequent holiday seasons, thank you very much.

My least favorite Christmas song is "Do They Know It's Christmas?" by Band Aid. Granted, it was for a very noble cause (and Bob Geldof is a genius), but it wasn't a good holiday song at all.

Maybe it's the conflicting elements within the lyrics. Maybe it's the weird clanging sound at the beginning. Or maybe it's the involvement of Boy George. I just haven't really warmed to it.

I wouldn't really consider "Santa Baby" to be a Christmas carol. It's more of just a song people listen to around Christmas time. Anyway, it's probably the song I hate the most around Christmas time, since it's kinda disturbing.

Hmm, I don't think I've heard any of those songs...

for my part, the worst Christmas song I've heard is a rendition of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer where, amongst other glaring flaws, Santa's line is sung by a woman.

Hands down, without question, the WORST Christmas song ever is "Last Christmas" by Wham! (Ugh, I hate adding that exclamation point to the end of that stupid band.) George Michael, last Christmas you may have given away your heart, but this Christmas, I'm giving you the finger.

Never has Christmas ever been so whiny. Also, for Portlander's, "Christmas in the Northwest" runs a close second.

Hey, by the way, I'm new here, so hullo all. Nice to meet you.

My least favorite Christmas song so far is O Holy Night. It's not that I think it is a bad song, however, I just do not like to hear "O Holy Night" some reason.

One I actually like, usually has no words to it [though I think there are words].. I can't remember the name of it, but here's Family Guys' spoof that crazy spoof I used to get in emails, "Ding fries are done" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vctsp3JFzjQ

Thanks so much!
I figured it was carol of the something, and I knew I heard the version with lyrics but I hear it so rarely.

Definitely a tie between "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree".

To be honest, though, any Christmas song with the word "Rock" in the title.

And that crappy Cartoon Network special has forever ruined "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" for me.
