    Zeta Project

    Like This Thread!
I finally watched an episode of Zeta (Now that it's on YTV in Canada). I don't know if this has been discussed, but....is it just me, or are the colors really bright, watered-down and pastel-y? I realize the episode I saw was set in the daytime, but, man, it looks like a show for four-year-olds. Was this one of the things the executives imposed on?

Yeah, a lot of people have commented on the really bright colors. In my opinion, though, I really don't think it looks any brighter than a lot of the other cartoons out there. I really don't see why people dislike the colors in this series any more than any of the others, but that's just how I feel...

People probably complain because it's a spin-off of Batman Beyond. Anything dealing with Batman just shouldn't be bright, even if it is a show about a robot.

I found the show really bright, also. The background sjust look real weird as well. I can't really put my finger on it, but the background design just looks..sorta fluffy...

Everything looks like it came out of the dryer covered in lint.

A lot of shows are aimed at 4 year olds now. Why just pick on this one?

Probably because it's associated with Batman, but after a while, it's not hard to think of it as separate. Once you get the idea that it isn't Batman, not like Batman, never will be Batman, then Zeta is acceptable as a kiddie show.

But I don't watch simplistic, fluffy, angst-free kiddie shows, so I don't watch Zeta.

It is a bright show for 4 year olds. And it's especially bright compared to BB. At first I thought it was a spin-off of BB (it's actually not, the zeta ep in bb was just to intro the character, apparently the idea for the show was already developed), so I expected it to be dark and gritty. But it's pretty much bubble gum fare, I think there's an episode called Candy Factory which pretty much sums it up.

Did anyone else notice when how much better Zeta and Roe looked when they were in the BB episode (Countdown?). THey had actual shadows, depth, it was pretty nice for a while.

Is it any brighter than say, "Pokemon" or "Arthur?" Most kiddie shows have bubblegum colours anyway.

Oh....well...I was under the impression that it was intended for people older than, say, 4, but ended up being that only 4-year-olds could stomach it anyway. But I only saw one episode anyway ^_^'
