I think it should be stressed that this is for CN (as opposed to Boomerang) on Sat. night/Sun. morning, and it will go into effect on Jan. 11
I've been thinking about taping Fantastic Four, since I'm a huge fan and the 60s toons are some good Silver Age fun. Since they're going to be on at 3, I might just start taping them as I watch.
Also, I don't know if it justifies a new thread, but Freakazoid will return to the 5 AM weekday slot.![]()
When will this be? This is both good & bad news for me. GOOD: I love Freakazoid and can't wait to see it again. BAD: I love what's currently in the slot, Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, and wouldn't want to see it disappear from the schedule (I'm hoping they remember they have two whole seasons of it instead of just 16 episodes).Originally posted by Joe Tully

Well, if RAJQ is vanishing, at least Boomeraction still has the 60s series.![]()

Pirates of Dark Water? I haven't seen that show since it was on ABC at least a decade ago. Cool. I finally get to see how it ended.
Pirates of Dark Water is the only one there that has me excited. All the others I either don't like or have already seen most of the episodes of recently.
And two big thumbs up for Freakazoid coming back.![]()

Sealab 2020. I want to see this just to see what it's like when it's supposed to be taken completely seriously...
and Pirates of Darkwater/60s FF: awesome. Gonig to be staying up on Saturdays even longer now....

If the 'TBA' slot just said 'Boomeraction', that is actually a show. It is the Superfriends Filmation. So, I guess I am glad that Superfriends Filmation and Superfriends will be on right after Superman/Batman Beyond in Jan. Otherwise,.
"Leaping Lanny and Randy Savage are brothers, and Randy Savage, your name is Randy Poffo. THAT'S RIGHT, RANDY POFFO. You're ashamed of going around calling yourself Poffo so you probably got the name Savage because you're ashamed of putting yourself on the same level as your brother because he is much better than you are. YOUR BROTHER IS A HUMAN BEING. YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A SCUMBAG. THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE; YOU'RE A DOG. YOUR NAME IS POFFO." - Ronnie Garvin to Randy Savage, ICW Wrestling, 1980.
It's too bad that Freakazoid isn't part of Adault Swim Comedy. It would've been been A great addition to that lineup. Anyway, I don't mind the Boomeraction block just for nostalgia. I haven't seen Pirates Of Darkwater in A long time. I have seen the original Sealab, and it is pretty dull at times. It was also nice seeing The Super Powers Team in the Superfriends package along with Challange Of The Superfriends, The World's Greatest Superfriends, and The Legendary Superpowers Show.
I'll be intrested when Star Blazers joins the lineup. Or at least the Harlock Saga.
The Pirates of Dark Water? They never finished that, right?
It was a regular on Cartoon Network several years ago. They would never show the final episode. They even came up with this weird interstitial to explain why (it didn't explain anything, just reinforced the audience's annoyance.)Originally posted by Supernovametalstar

Love means never having to say "That's disgusting!"
Eschew obfuscation!
I thought they said that the finale didn't exist.
Good call, it is just labeled "Boomeraction". Though the episode titles are not filled in...Originally posted by Condiment King
If the 'TBA' slot just said 'Boomeraction', that is actually a show. It is the Superfriends Filmation.
The second season (or season three if you consider the first five season one) of The Pirates of Dark Water, which originally aired as part of the Funtastic World Hanna-Barbara, contained more self-contained stories rather than continue the quest.
Why air Sealab 2020? I love Sealab 2021 but Sealab 2020 is one of the most boring animated series ever. There's a reason why it was the perfect series to parody. That show is a cure for insomnia. Why don't they take a chance and air something different like Ruby Spears Superman, Jana of the Jungle, or Mighty Sampson (none of which has yet to air on CN), or bring back Dynomutt or Thundarr.
I love Super Friends but I'll get excited when they start airing The New Super Friends Hour, Challenge part one, Superfriends shorts, and the six remaining episodes of The Legendary Super Powers Show unedited. If it is just more Challenge and World's Greatest then forget about it.

So there are six episode of "The Ledgendary Super Powers Show" that haven't aired yet? What are they, and did they ever air before on Cartoon Network? I've always wondered why they never bothered to air Ruby-Spears' Superman. They should put Thundarr, or Dynomutt in the 5:30 AM timeslot instead of Sealab 2020.
I should correct myself; there are six episodes of Superfriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show that hasn't aired to my knowledge on Cartoon Network. They usually air two episodes after World's Greatest before moving on to The Super Powers Team.

Freakazoid is coming back next year? That's great because there are still a handful of episodes I haven't collected on tape yet. I just wish they'd give it a better timeslot.Originally posted by Joe Tully

The only reason I'm ever up that early to watch it is because my school bus arrives at about 6:15.

I wonder if ratings for it have gone up after the premiere of 2021? I know people have tuned into it just to see what the source material is for 2021.Originally posted by Mister Intensity

I've watched it a couple of times just because it's amusing in the same way that you can enjoy a B-movie. It's so terrible, it makes it a little funny to watch. And it is kinda interesting to see what parts they've stolen from it to make 2021.
I did see Sealab 2020 out of curiosity, I admit. I fell asleep halfway through. It's that boring.
