He's been in a few others. But Warner Brothers realized that he was basically just an angrier version of Daffy and started giving his parts to the Duck.
Thanksgiving I was fiddling around with the movies trying to find something to do, and I found unmarked tapes. I poped one into the VCR and behold! They where recorded cartoons! Not just any cartoons, but some of my favorite old cartoons form when I was little.
Some old Loney Tunes and Popeye cartoons. The first tape I watched had 'Fairy Tale Fables' 'Get Rich Quick Porky' and 'The Sunshine Makers' (My favorite! ^_^) 'Get Rich Quick Porky' had this one character I don't realy see that much. Gabby the Goat.
He's the color of porkey and looks kinda like him, except he has a blue shirt, and he's a goat. DOes anyone know about him, or why he isn't in many other cartoons?
(The other tapes had 'Popeye and Sinbad' 'Popeye and Ali Baba', and I forgot the names of the other cartoons on one of the tapes.I remember we had alot of other old cartoons, more Luney Tunes, some Old Betty Boop, and 2 epis from the old Superman cartoon. I just can't find them. ;__; )
I EAT YOU, PIE! MHUAHAHAHHAA!!!

I remember Gabby. He was quite A fun character. Gabby had some of the best lines such as "Well, ain't that something", and Now isn't that A smart idea". Unfortunately, Gabby never caught on with movie goers at the time, and Warner Bros. decided it was better to pair Proky up with Daffy. The rest, as they say, is history.
Gabby was used in just 3 cartoons with Porky Pig, and that was it. I always liked him a lot, but I've heard other people call him annoying. Here's a description from (formerly online, now non-existant) E.O. Costello's WB Cartoon Companion.
Daffy was more popular, so it was probably thought that they might as well just use him instead of alternating between using Gabby and Daffy in the Porky Pig cartoons. Porky didn't really need 2 sidekicks, anyways.Short-lived sidekick to Porky Pig. Gabby was a short-tempered, irritable, and ultimately rather unlikeable character who was fairly quickly dropped. Voiced by writer Cal Howard.
Filmography:
Porky and Gabby (Iwerks, 1937)
Porky’s Badtime Story (Clampett, 1937) debut of character
Get Rich Quick Porky (Clampett, 1937)
Beck and Friedwald believe that elements of Gabby ended up in the character of Daffy, a theory buttressed by the fact that Porky’s Badtime Story was remade by Clampett as Tick Tock Tuckered (1944) with Daffy replacing Gabby.
Ironically, Proky eventually became the sidekick after he was paired up with Daffy.
Also, all three of Gabby's cartoons were originally black and white, so he really wasn't the same color as Porky and didn't wear a blue shirt. Those colors were added 30+ years after the cartoon was made.
Daffy replaced Gabby because he was very popular with audiences, they had never seen a totally wild and free character like Daffy before ("Porky's Duck Hunt," the first appearance of Daffy, was so popular that they published a children's book based on it).
