The very bottom quote I have is froma Davis toon. He seemed, as the fourth director, to work in the inferior Cnecolor process, though Technicolor&copy did the prints.

He did a lot of very funny cartoons with a always on-top Daffy. animated by Emery Hawkins largely, or by Basil Davidovich.Rocky and Bullwinkle's Bill Scott & Lloyd Turner wrote a lot of these.

Cartoons hadalsoPorky Pig in a couple of solos, beginning with Mr.Davis's first, "Mouse Menace"(1946), and some one shots-"A Hick, A Slick and a Chick: quoted below, with Stan Freberg,Mel Blanc and Bea Benadaret, and someone doing Jimmy Durante's voice, "Dough Ray Meow",about a dumb cat inheriting money and awiseguy Brooklyn parrot's attempt to getit next, and he does..and "Bone Sweet Bone" about a dog trying to get a mueseum dinosaur bone back.

Davis started at Columbia and later wound up Friz Freleng's main animator, and worked at Hanna-Barbera and DePatie-Freleng, and had odd ways of posing characters.

Art Davis,b.New York, 1904, died, May 9,2002.
